Not using a calculator is so inconvenient, I get that you want us to do it on our own but every phone has a calculator, we've moved passed this T^T just teach us the formula we'll manage T•T
I mean by this logic why are we learning any facts when we can Google it? It is good to train your cognitive functions to do easy operations in memory. In my school calculator was only allowed on exams since they want just to know if you know how to solve the problem. I am no longer a student (only postgraduate student but it doesn't count) and now I work in education and from my perspective all the informations we are learning 80% or even more we are never gonna use, but what is important are skills we develop along the way.
Also, it makes it so easier for classes that require a lot of calculations like pre-calc or statistics. Doing everything out in statistics would take incredibly long.

We're allowed to take calculators in math class but starting from 6th grade and no. We can't use them. We take it for our teachers in case they forget to bring their ones.
