The cqc 4 is amazing. For a teen at least, ive been carrying mine for over 2 years and it is one of my go to edc knife. I even dropped it in the garage one day and my mom came home and ran it over TWICE. and it still perfectly fine aside a few scratches on the back. I would have expected the handle to crack. Overall this is a great budget edc knife.
Super excited about Kershaw/ Emerson cqc line of knives. Then I found out they're being made in China, instead of the USA. Big let down, until I saw the ZT 620. Now I'm super excited to make that my next knife purchase.
It's still cool that you're able to buy an Emerson design without breaking the bank. Not everyone can afford to spend 100s of dollars on a pocket knife. It's honestly kinda ludicrous when you think about how much some guys spend on a tool that they're only going to use to open packages and clean their fingernails 😅
I just received the cqc-4 in the mail . I ordered it from Amazon and I'm disappointed with it. It's very stiff and hard to flip open by hand. When I tried to loosen the pivot screw a little it causes the blade to move from center and the blade rubs against the liner every time I open or close it.
I have a trainer version and I am simply unable to open it with my thumb. I checked Kershaw Emerson videos like yours to catch the moment how the hell people do it but there is no slow motion tutorial on how to open it with that stupid little plate. So frustrating... Am I the only one or...?
the hook on the blade makes it to where when its clipped in your pocket you draw the knife out and pull back and it catches on your pocket and deploys. It's a incredible design. TH-cam "wave blade knife" or something along those lines and you can see it i action
Hi Blade HQ! Should I get the Kershaw Emerson CQC-3k over the Gerber Fast Draw Tanto? I'm looking for something I could use to defend myself if I need to, something easily opened, and something not too thick because I'm a girl and my jeans pocket isn't too big :) any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
dougie2shoes Either would work; just be aware that using the Emerson wave opener can take some practice, also it is the larger and slightly heavier of the two.
i was seriously considering some of these, but they are just way too small for my preference (3.5-3.75" and up) i carry a praetorian lately, so these flimsly little blades seem like toys for opening letters to me... too bad
@@VictorMaxol I'd be nice if more youtubers would put time stamps in. They have to try and get that watch time and engagement though. Granted, when they start using a whole lot of words to say something that could have been said in a few sentences I go elsewhere. It reminds me of myself trying to add random stuff to an essay in school to reach the word limit as a kid 😂
If u r left handed your screwed. Have too order new screws if u r left handed. That's if they have the right screws for your knife. For right handed users their is no problem
Ugh. I sincerely hope this line does not have a handle thickness as big as it looks in the video. Seriously, these look to be well over half an inch in thickness. Just... ridiculous. If I wanted something that beefy and large, I'd carry a ZT instead.

You mixed up the sixes and sevens at the end, 7k has a tanto blade.

Is the blade easy to fold ? like when people use it, it must not be folded. I'm just curious about that.

I just pre ordered cqc 2k and cqc 8k I like that they not chisel ground . That is one factor that has hindered me on buying other emerson knives
