I am SOOO grateful that there are talented musicians who preserve this wonderful music for our delectation.I find it terrific, smashing and a real listening and viewing pleasure!
I am happy that you feel grateful for our musical creations. It is a miracle that Don Neely started the band during the last year in college. He was a small town boy growing up in Hollister, CA
They are very well worth seeing, and I have seen them every time I can. Have probably all their recordings. They are so perfect that I could not believe, when I first saw them, that they could recreate the music (I'm almost 80) that I remember from the original recordings. I've heard Vince Giordano, Turk Murphy, and many others, but they are the best.
William your insightful compliments are heartwarming. Musicians are susceptible to this it seems. It's more than nice to learn that our art means something to people. And that we were appreciated by someone as discerning as you.
I feel the same way!! What a service Carla and Don and the orchestra did for their public. I never fail to be cheered up by their music and also have the joy to be able to tap dance along. Thank you so much, dear Carla and Don!! 💐🌿❤️
This reminds me of the 3 ambassadors (with Bing) & Whiteman Orchestra at the Cocoanut Grove. Carla may be a reincarnation of Loyce Whiteman (similar voice quality at least)
Thank you for the great compliment. You know your musical history. Love those recordings and indeed they inspired us. I used to think I might have been reincarnated and who knows, it may be possible. But also another likely influence was my musician father's many 78 rpm listening sessions during my childhood. :-) Carla
This orchestra is brilliant and I love Carla's delivery and style.
I am delighted that you so appreciate our music! We put our hearts into it!
Outstanding brilliant rare classical historical hot rendering rendez vous ! Merci beaucoup from Paris France.
Bravo, Carla!! 💐💕❤️
I grin from ear to ear every time I watch this video.A spot on tribute to a wonderful time in American music.
Aw! That's what we like to know!
WONDERFUL!!!

@@royalsocietyjazz Keep the culture of light alive in these dark & difficult times!
Leave the vocals to Carla guys.
Very good! But where and when was this recorded? For what show or TV-program?
It was for public broadcasting television in San Francisco. The end of 1986 and was shown around the US on new year's eve.
This is shit lol. I think about all the “classic” and I automatically think of the racism everywhere and I’m like instantly disgusted :(
