You should tell developers to make achievements reliable. I hate it when I should get an achievement and Steam doesn't register it, forcing me to play through the game again. Perhaps a variable saved somewhere that the game will periodically check and resend the achievement in case it was missed the first time.
That has literally never happened to me or anyone I know in person, have you tried verifying the cache of your game or speak to the dev of the game itself? I doubt it's Steam's problem.
Hey valve, I think steam could use mote social features, party chats? I believe that would be very useful and with steamos on steamboxes coming soon I feel it's actually needed. Give us a good Skype killing friend party chat system, and while you're at it, I personally think that something like avatars would allow us to show our creative sides and allow devs to include clothing bundled in with games they have available to purchase.
I think the idea was that you don't have to use this stuff and that there's a lot of customisability for you to create your own things. Nowhere did I hear that future games require any of the features
***** I know it's not forced directly on developers, still quite a few new developers add immersion breaking achievments only because they feel their steam games are incomplete without. In my opinion achievements should be rewarded as in-game perks instead of an online list without further meaning
Angelo Lesniak Are you saying that we should not develop and give access to this tech and integration into steam because some developers don't know any better? It's pretty flawed logic
Angelo Lesniak This is entirely the fault of the developers, Valve does nothing to force them on you, claiming they shouldn't add features because some developers might use them when they shouldn't is silly.
Interesting talk, thanks.

ShadowMassacr13 I haven't encountered it for a while so maybe it is fixed but this happened to me lots with Half Life 2.
Interesting stuff

yeah, i know i guess i should have specified this better, but i mean something of its own that works more like party chat on xbox live
i don't like how steam is forcing future games in to this frame of achievements and scoreboards...
