One problem I have always had with this type of gamemode, as well as the zombies in TTT, you can either try and win as a human or innocent or just let yourself die to a barrel or zombie and win as that team.

Imo the hidden was not very fun to watch because it's more skilled based then other game modes. The hidden in particular can be really strong or really weak depending on how it is played. Because they are generally not very good the hidden videos were pretty boring. But a lot has changed, they are definitely much better at GMod now then they were back then, so I would be courious to see how it turns out if they play the hidden again
The Hidden had many good ideas. Making them work properly, and getting people to "play properly" in other hand.. A lot of backstabbing multiplayer games (Murder, TTT, The Hidden etc.) would really be more fun with locational voip rather than everyone chatting in same channel. But everyone chatting in same channel (usually) works better for watching others play.. :/

I wish they took possession of the barrels that are in the map already. It would make surprise attacks and stealth much more effective instead of being shot upon spawning.
Almost wish the game mode had skills like the Guess Who. Make other barrels move or teleport to another barrel sorta things. Balance wise skills could get disabled as people are turned. But just to get over the first big hurdle.
Yeah, but what about balancing? Just from normal game play the barrels seem to already have the advantage of respawning and have quite a decent range. I think it would make them even more powerful than the already were. But that's just my take on it. Maybe it wouldn't be that much of a buff in the grand scheme of things.

I wasn't saying only change that or give the barrels advantage. I just don't like seeing someone spawn in and immediately get shot because they happened to spawn in someone's sight. Even barrels using a highlight outline visible to everyone after they die to choose their next spawn would be better. At least then they don't have to be insta-spotted but they can't just spawn next to people without being punished for it.
The whole game is a good idea poorly executed tbh There's plenty of ways to improve the balancing while also making the barrels more interesting Humans should reload much faster and be able to 1-shot lit barrels considering how many come at them at once as soon as a single person goes down plus the limited health they have to deal with Barrels should have to possess the prop barrels outside a certain range of the humans so they're not insta-killed on spawn because that shit's boring and just respawn the props shortly after the barrel possessing them dies Which would also fix the MAJOR problem of barrels spawning directly on players and blowing them up immediately There also needs to be a visual effect for a lit barrel I assume this mode is just a first draft but it could definitely use some tweaking (though I swear I saw it years ago so idk)

The standard length for GMod episodes had been 45 mins plus for ages. That is until they decided to totally not cut content from yt videos and put “extra” rounds on the “totally useable” rt site

This mode is either designed for a much higher player limit than AH can reasonably accommodate, or it needs a serious rehaul. Personally, I think that the barrels should always have 1 HP, even when 'lit', since the reload speed is so bad. It would therefore be more of an issue of accuracy on the human's part. Additionally, as many have pointed out, make it impossible for barrels to spawn right next to humans, thereby making it impossible for the humans to react. For the human side, we need to prevent them from 'fortifying' or camping. To this end, a Murder-like system could be useful, with clues around the map. 5 clues nets you a SMG, allowing for rapid-fire and decreased loading. Additionally, health kits to refuel HP. These will make the players have to coordinate, as traveling alone is a good way to get swamped, while traveling in a group means they can all be taken out by a single barrel. These changes make the game more dynamic, forcing both sides to strategize and keeps the round moving around the map instead of being focused on one area. An optional rule could be that the more people are within a certain range of one another, the bigger the blast of the barrel, to prevent clumping. Edit 1: Forgot to mention, but give the last human alive some sort of overshield or perhaps a directional riot shield, so barrels can't charge directly at him and score a hit. This gives the last player a fighting chance.
I don't mind that they want to "add" bonus rounds, but their videos used to range from 40-45 minutes, and this one was just under 30. It's disappointing that they cut content and put it on their own platform and said they didn't take anything away. I know you guys have to make that cash money, though. She would end up 100% screaming an dbeing hard to hear the others. Didn't even really think of it/notice it till that video where "If it's extra chaotic it's cause Ryan and Alfredo wouldn't sit this TTT out". And they didn't talk much so it was fine, but Fiona I ended up noticing just spoke the most. And usually to nobody, just screaming about an angle or her and Gavin literally off in their own world talking to one another while everyone else is tryign to play the game. Then kinda realize Michale/Gavin duo doesn't happen as often now which kinda sucks.
Good to see them trying out new game modes! I’d love to see some they’ve never done before at all. While TTT will probably always be my favorite, variation is always nice to see.
