Worked on my first atosa unit last week. Sure they are cheaply made but i was honestly super impressed with the company and ease of warranty processing
G,day Nor Cal Dave from Sydney Australia. Dude+ I really appreciate your HVACR filming and diagnostic thought process. I've gained some great tool ideas and work methods. The VANGINA is a serious "narly rig" for sure. Very cool intro music- 70s funk? I have experience with reverse cycle ducted A/C with cooling tower and units above suspension ceilings, to mini splits and cool rooms (walk inboxes) work smart and safe serious dude and enjoy the chillout🇦🇺🐟💧
Great observation about solving the problem prior to hitting the door, one of the best ways to get hurt and waste time. Do not start solving the problem prior to the proper time to solve the problem, the first thing to do is a pre-work observation look for gotchas then observe the machine attempting to run, then begin to solve the problem. If a person begins with a pre visual solution then they are already locked in on finding evidence to support that solution rather than observing the machine and let it say what the problem is. Just listen to the tunes man!
Hey what’s going on man I’m a young tech I do a little bit of it all but I’m really falling in love with more with refrigeration! Your vids definitely help me out appreciate ya man ✊🏾
I don't mind Scotsman. I just had our rep and a Scotsman tech put on a training class at our shop, and it seems like they've fixed a lot of the major issues like the ice thickness probe, and water level sensor. The new ones are made with stainless steel, and look like they will hold up much better as well as being much easier to clean. Only time will tell if they've got the evaporator issues resolved. I definitely like how you can control the new prodigy units with an app.
👍🇺🇸❄️💪 not a fan of atosa brand, reach-ins I've worked on wer brutal for servicing, 800 screws. I play super tech on my way to a service call. Good advice slow the mind down n enjoy the field trip, I'm a little nervous about Sunday. Redskins r hot. Thanks Dave
Yeah, the Atosa maybe cheap and nasty but to be fair any ice machine is gonna be unreliable with that much lime scale. Maybe sell them a water softener.
Atosa cheap and not reliable. I needed to replace condenser fans after two year use on brand new 3 door freezer, then the Dixell controller lost power for evaporator fans after two after 3 year. Never again buy Atosa.

Have you ever changed out an evaporator on a Manitowoc ice machine?
@@DanO181919 I have
That's probably not the first time Tippy's ended up in a shopping cart!😅 Crudded up probe-atitis!
Definitely falls under the category of -CHEAP CHINESE JUNK! But as mentioned below -lime/scale is the killer of all machines . Good video Dave !
super tech saved the day
What is that clearer that you used?
Nice fix dave 👍
your a better man than me dave… i would’ve taken those tacos even if i had breakfast 😂🌮
I tried sanding one a couple weeks ago and didn’t work. I found a replacement on eBay for $41 if you do end up having to change it out.
What are you guys think about Scottsman? I’ve had pretty good luck with them but I’ve heard other techs don’t like them that much?
not bad, but tech support on manitowoc is better😊
