    The Model you have #6988 was actually preserved next to #7081 by the Iowa Interstate Railroad in the US. Beautiful layout by the way

      Thank you . I’ve become a real fan of this loco as I’m unlikely to see one run in China now hopefully one day I will travel from the Uk to Iowa to see 6988 run when this pandemic is all over🙂

    Great video Andy, the music blends in perfectly for the right atmosphere, many thanks for sharing and keep up your good work, Bram

      MrBramMoos Thanks bram there is a refreshingly pleasing abundance of non copyrighted chinese music available. It was much needed to blot out the wind which as you know can be a pain when filming without going to the hassle of getting microphone covers etc.

      David Howarth Yes thanks . Will always be grateful for the day I stumbled on your channel and the powerdirector tutorial. Its still going strong after all these years and still affordable unlike adobe etc.

    Very cool long, tacky Chinese style graphic sequence. You must have seen a lot of Chinese movie studio logo vanity cards.

    Lovely steamer! I volunteer as a crew member on the 6988!
    We'll be running later this summer so I hope you can make it over here!

      thanks it’s. A good runner . I spoke to someone who ran on the cab on a qj in China and was told it was a dangerously bumpy ride is that true?

    • @BalticFilms144
      @BalticFilms144 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@norfolkrover Yes it's true. The QJs are poorly cross-balanced engines so anything above 25 mph makes for a very rough ride. I took footage inside the cab and you can see everyone bouncing around as we were doing about 35-40 mph.

      I watched your footplate vid great stuff. certainly a cleaner ride than the China videos where they appear to be shov
      elling literally powdered coal in the fire box.

      @@norfolkrover Thank you! It's amazing how these engines were able to burn it so finely ground up.

    Thoes wheels are not 5cm !

    • @norfolkrover
      @norfolkrover  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Real life Qj wheels according to Wikipedia and other sources are 1.5m diam so for a 1/32 scale model 5cm works out. Alternatively about 80 per cent size of an average gauge one person which are typically 6cm which again works out when stood next to the locomotive.

      @@norfolkrover have you measured over the treads with a vernier they look smaller than 50mm in diameter in the vidio to me. Its a really cool model though.

      @@norfolkrover wikipedia is not always right and in alot of cases only approximate i wpuldnt rely on that I'd go to source books for that kind of information or railway archives.
