The kid (ruto) shows (multiple times) displayed the affection towards junkyu. He loves to hug him and lean on him as much as often. Mostly, when the camera doesn't focus on them and the don't y'all think that's shows that those love for each other screams a thousand "realiness". They aren't pretending or anything, it's just being them, having their own world.

Junkyu is an INFP, and as an INFP i understand him very well. As an INFP I hate it when people touch or use my things or if people invade my personal space, it's one of an INFP's pet peeve. They are the complete opposites.
First, Junkyu is the type of person who tends to overthink whenever someone around him does an action that he might be the cause of it (i can relate bc i'm like this too). And, Ruto is the type of person that doesn't know how to express love so he tends to be considerate at all times and likes to act behind the scenes always.
Junkyu looks so disappointed not because ruto doesn't like him but he felt disappointed bc he can't make himself likeable to ruto as his roommate. Their personality clashes and might cause a misunderstanding, but i could see that they are really close to each other.
