    This was quite entertaining lol. Glad you didn't just hang up on him for us to benefit. Something is obviously fishy with his company. I worked for ET for a few months. They are legit. If you drive 3k a week you will make almost 2k as a company driver. The only slightly misleading thing about about ET is their trucks mpg. They do get good mpg but that is because they don't haul 40,000lb. It's usually 20-30,000lbs. I don't know how they get good loads like that. Also the only other thing about ET is that they somehow get loads higher than the national average. So I'm not 100% sure how much of a cut they take if you're an owner operator.

    I am 80 years old and have owned trucks for 60 years. English was my third language, but I was born in Texas and I get accused of having a Texas accent, But I doubt that people that merely talk to me on the phone realize that I learned English in School. First of all, when someone keeps saying "believe me", I assume the guy to be full of shit. And if someone criticizes my ancestry, they don't need to do business with me. They can go protest with the college students. I still have 3 land lines at my office that have been listed for over 50 years. The guy reminds me of the scam telemarketers that call landlines in hopes of reaching some elderly person and scamming them. I wouldn't waste my time debating with such a jerk.

    You are right Mr. I just found myself in the middle of what double brokering looks like this week twice. One i found out to late and the other right at the beginning of booking a load. It's now gone to some serious investigations and who knows if I'll ever get paid now. I now call every shipper to find who the original brokers are now. Works every time.

    😢😢 agreed Ronen, this dude was hurt by the truth. I have one mc,one dot, had to put in my startup time. Stayed clean and honest. The only thing I had a problem with was brokers taking 35-40%. If dispatchers who do more for the drivers are ok with 10% or less, why can brokers make so much of the load? They're not the ones responsible

    Hi Ronen, this is Marian Neagu, I've been working with ET last summer for about 45 days, I like your videos and ET is a decent company to work with, but you know is not perfect. I left ET because I've been pushed to do an interstate job, I've done my delivery in Atlanta, did my pick up in Gainesville, and on my way home, I've got a call from my dispatch telling me to drop my loaded trailer and pick up another mty and do another pick up. I refuzed to do that job and they let me come home with my initial load. Maybe you don't know everything in your company or you look the other way, but this is one of the reasons I letf. Some other safety reasons accumulate, but that's another story.

    A lot of little brokers used to do that but with all the stealing going on they trying to stop it. Plus the guy has to understand that each broker has a contract and you have to honor it. If they don't want to double broker its in the contract.

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup! A contract is a contract. If a contract states that a load should only be brokered to a specific person, and you sign it, breaking that contract is a legal dispute. So, if they sign a contract that says a load can't be double brokered, the result is the same

    We need someone that fights the carrier side. Outside of not getting paid, the fact that so many people took money out of the load is a major problem. The carrier has to pay almost 45% in maintenance and fuel if not more.

  • @melvinguzman626
    @melvinguzman626 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The reason why I think double brokering should be ilegal it’s because the double broker takes (10-20)% another percentage off the original broker who takes😮 (25-40%) making it even more cheap load to the carrier that decides to take the LOAD! So at the end we as carriers take 60 or even less percentage of the LOAD!😩😩

    The guy does have a valid point on one thing
    when you have new carrier that enter the market lot of brokers dont give them a chance to work with them , because they have ridiculous requirements .
    I remember when we started in 2021 and once I was looking for load from Kelowna BC to Portland OR , Fastfrate had posted on loadlink , I contacted them, talked about the load and everything had been agreed , when they ask for the MC number it came out as 4 months old , they refused to give me the load and said their requirement was it needs to be 12 months active, I told them I have a good record I worked with other brokers and can provide you references and also will provide a tracking link once load is picked up , they did not listen and refuse to give me the load. Had to come empty back to Vancouver to pick up an different load.
    What i believe one thing is to stop double brokering is to , cut out ridiculous requirements for new carriers , when you are tracking a shipment it always states the truck number and company name so you know its being picked up by the carrier that original picked up the load.

    I know all of companies who have a carrier MC and also have seperate brokerage MC as well
    So basically what they do is book a load with carrier MC and sell that laod through their brokerage MC
    What I have absorbed is that they usually do pay the carrier but it is much lower rate compare to let's say if you get it from original broker
    and they make $50-100 per load.

    i believe that capitalism works best when governments stay out of the system, but you need some entity, in this case, government to create a fair system. A fair system takes into account both sides of the load, brokers and carriers. Are all systems foolproof? No, but in this case, double-booking should NOT be legal. Screw these scammers. If they allowed double-broking loads, you allow unscrupulous companies to book a load, then get paid on that load, but fail to pay the actual carrier. Further, this is also a problem that the carrier is getting screwed because each broker will take his cut because the other brokers do not add any value to the load. IF that is this guys business model, he needs to change his model and carriers (especially owner operators) should be informed that the load is double-brokered. As the trucker, we don't need the added headaches and risks involved.
    If there are operators stupid enough to deliver a double-brokered load, then it is on them. These operators are running higher risks without being compensated.
    screw this guy and his business model.

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have a great point BUT. Brokers are in fact, NOT the other side of the load. Shippers are. The customers, the manufacturing companies, etc, those are who stands on the other side of the load. Brokers are middle men who simply hop in the center to intercept the shippers' loads and get it to carriers

    I think what this guy is referring to is the difference between double brokering and scamming, double brokers try to pay carriers on time and as stated in the RC because their brokerage companies and their carrier MC’s depend on it, an example would be (abc brokerage) they have a lot of bad comments, they don't pay on time , don't pay the full amount of the amount stated in the RC, question- would you take a load next time from their brokerage company ? No of course not , also their carrier companies try to be clean(411, highway...) to work debt.
    And about the scammers I will say that they can change broker/carrier MC every day because they get reports quickly and close their brokerage.
    DB - they help the industry to develop, if a broker has a problem to cover a shipment, and the carrier who could move this load set up and can work only with double broker (no way to work with load owner) and ready to pick that up - let him to pick up that load, do not tell to your customer bad words like (please take of me from shipment, I can not cover this one).
    Keep your customers warm and safe they need your coverage
    Thanks and Regards

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Double brokering in and of itself is an illegal practice. If a carrier has an issue, don't broker the load to someone else. Return the load to the original broker, and let them inform the customer that there will be a delay.

    • @namechannel8995
      @namechannel8995 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand your position , but look at the situation , my customer told me that if I can not cover the load I should not take and risk our business relationship (the load is 1400 miles and must be loaded on a plane the next day to fly to another country) . So if there is a problem with the carrier, and I know a double broker or co-broker who can cover this load for me I will let him do it so as not to spoil the relationship with the client and so that this paid space on the plane does not leave empty. This carrier did not call me because my company only works with MC over 6 months old but they are great carriers and will do landstar loads before they will have 6 months authority to move my loads
      In this format I agree to work with double brokers , or co brokers like landstar.

      OK, but I feel like there’s a difference between co brokering and double brokering… as long as everyone understands how brokering works and it’s 100% known that multiple brokerages are involved, that’s one thing… But to Croker a load and it not stated, and then you run into the issue of possibly not getting paid or not getting layover and detention orif there’s a problem with damage to product… Then it becomes an issue

    Double brokering is bad because it takes away from what the driver ultimately gets paid because drivers should be paid as much as reasonably possible... ( so drivers stick around in the industry)

    I’m 67 and seem to be able to fill out brokerage setup packets online. I am slightly hard of hearing as I’ve driven old school Detroit Diesels and can relate to not doing business with foreigners. It’s not because I’m racist but if I can understand what the person on the other end of the phone is telling me. If I can’t understand the broker when asking about load details I just tell him I’m not interested and to have a good day. If his dispatcher can’t speak English I don’t do business with him again.

      I am for dispatch services that speak multiple languages to assist people with heavy accents to get loads. Also as we move to digital platforms accents are less of an issue. Occasionally I’ve take loads where I’ve never talked with the broker and only communicated by email and text.

    There's a fine line and it's even thinner when a carrier is acting as a broker. This guy calling is like a disguised dispatch or a kind of guru with his multiple MCs and multiple brokerages. The load I'm on now is tendered by a carrier acting as freight broker. The shipper was aware of my carrier name and the BOL signed between shipper and broker was mentioning my carrier as effective hauler. This is a crystal clear situation and no way a double brokerage scenario. All three parties recognize the involvement of each. If someone in the chain not aware of one other then we are deep into multi brokerage.

    12:47 One reason perhaps you might have multiple MC's Is the d o t enforcement people will give out So many little mini violations of truck standards ( like a disabled marker light) to a trucking fleet that you will not be able to move your fleet under a mc number until the violation cure it self over a 6 month period.
    I think anything over like 20% violation rate makes al you shut down until you Fully correct it
    If you have multiple MC's then you can continue to move freight under the different numbers as the violations cure themselves
