Do not rely on his OBD2 pin diagram shown at 5:36! Yes, do short pins 4 and 9, but the diagram shown in this video is backwards and will cause you unnecessary distress. Read the numbers on the OBD2 port itself--the four corner pins should each have a number printed next to them.

I changed the transmission speed sensor in my 3.2 CL 2003 Base model because I was having this problem, although I was also getting a Torque Converter Clutch Malfunction code. Yet still, replacing this sensor and transmission fluid flush seemed to fix the issue, but not immediately. I still had some roughness for the first few drives, but then it went back to driving completely normal! About 7000 miles or so later however, the issue came back. I now come to realize after watching this video that only one of the speed sensor was changed. So I'm wondering if perhaps I just change both of then again (since I can't know for sure which one did or didn't get changed) if that would do the trick? Never done anything like this before but I've done a lot of research and so I think it's worth a shot. I may also change the transmission fluid with the good OE factory stuff, maybe also add some Lucas oil. I'm going to see if changing the grounding cables is needed also. These are all the things I've found. I may just try switching out the two sensors and reseting the codes if I csn figure out how (I don't have a computer check light reader) first. Will check back in case anyone is interested.
I'm thinking of purchasing the 2 sensors from amazon, my acura failed to change gears out of no where so I changed the oil (3 bottles) feels better but the problem comes and goes.

Anyway, he had a video about changing the Transmission Oil 3rd Gear Pressure Clutch Switch. Very easy to change out, and could help a lot with this problem! I'll be changing mine even if my issues resolve after changing to correct fluid level.
I have a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. My problem is speedometer reads 0. Check engine light came on. D light blinks. Car drives fine minus when stopped. Will die if coming to a complete stop. Code read as vehicle speed sensor. Changed that out. No difference. Any thoughts?

I got engine check sign at the board and the code read from Autophix OBDMATE 123 on my CRV 2002 is [ P1705 Short in Transmission Range Switch Circuit (More than one range position is on at the same time) ]. The D light is flashing sometime when I am on drive and once I switch ignition off and then on. It will stop flashing. It re-occur again mostly when I am on drive. What should I do for the case, bro? My 2006 v6 Accord has the same problem, while i was driving on the highway suddenly the gear slipped back to 2nd gear the D light came up flashing plus the check engine light and VSA too!! Turned off the engine waited for 10 minutes the drove well for 2 minutes then the same issue happened again. After watching your video tried your method and got 2 codes, 70 and 76. Please help 😞
Could a Check Engine Light (CEL) code: P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or stuck off for a '04 Honda Accord EX 2.4L 4-Dr Sedan Automatic (approximately 259,000 miles) just be a Solenoid issue or something else (Pressure switch, etc) if the car is not going into Reverse for up to 2 minutes & the same thing for Drive (Have to wait a few seconds up to 2 minutes) Drive light blinks, Check Engine Light is on & that is the only code displayed; P0756 Shift Solenoid B performance or Stuck Off (Other issues: Sometimes there's a quick grinding sound when the car is switching into gear usually after the car is stopped at a stop sign/light then moving again, RPMs rev up high but the speedometer stays low & takes a while to switch gears. After the CEL had been cleared the car drove fine in all gears, 65mph no problem, etc then when the CEL & blinking Drive light came back on it had the issues listed above). Other Notes: Honda dealership recently drained/filled with new transmission fluid approximately 3 weeks later while up in the mountains I had a loose negative battery connection; dashboard lights flickered, RPMs reved high with harder shifting, after I realized it was a loose negative battery connection I used a SHIM to fill the gap>Battery connection issue fixed but then I started experiencing transmission issues; Just delayed shifting (High RPMs before kicking into gear) took the shim off which obviously involved disconnecting the negative battery cable then lone behold the car was shifting fine. Had to put the shim back in (loose connection) then the same transmission problems started to occur again & became progressively worse as mentioned above. Later after the car finally kicked into Drive it was taken to a transmission shop & they said they were barely able to get it into their bay by pushing it (While in Neutrel) They said it needed to be driveable to run their scan tool to pull codes/test the transmission & their final result is they said it needs a rebuilt transmission ($4500+) no code scans, test drive, they believe it couldn't just be the solenoid, etc. Since it delays so long and or doesn't go into Reverse gear or drive (Not sure how long they actually waited to give the car a chance to go into those gears). If the transmission is actually no good I will take it to a shop that takes the exsisting original transmission out & rebuilds that $2000-$2800 instead of this shop who only orders comptely rebuilt ones for $4500+ (They said they don't rebuild transmissions on foreign cars because they had too many issues & only rebuild original transmissions on American vehicles). Just wanted some feedback, opinions if they still could've scanned the vehicle properly since it starts & even if it can't kick into gear to test drive it and also based on this info if it still could be a Solenoid fix etc (Lengthy info in case this is helpful to determine the issue better & in case this is beneficial to anyone else experiencing similar issues).

You probably have same problem as i did The computer cant figure out what gear it is in therefore, you are in limp mode. Sounds like either a speed sensor or the sensors i mentionned. Easy fixes but make sure to buy HIGH QUALITY sensors. Don't cheap out.

Ari Grande that’s similar to what I had except the car wouldn’t shift the gear up so I was stuck at like max 40kmh. The D green light kept on flashing. It’s probably either the input or output speed sensor. It should show you a check engine code so use a engine code reader!
I have a 2005 Acura TSX Auto with a code P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance/Stuck Off, and with a flashing “D”. My car won’t move at all when it’s in “Drive” or “Reverse”. Is this really a Solenoid problem? Cause I was told that that code is a transmission problem with the filter inside of the transmission. I was told that I would have to get my transmission dropped and disassembled to get to the filter inside of the transmission 😪
MileHigh Built Yeah I got my car back running. It’s the transmission. I guess the filter that’s inside of the transmission they get clogged up if you don’t do a transmission flushed right away the transmission could get damage do to the fluid not flowing fluid and cause the clutches to get burnt. In order to get to the filter you have to disassembled the transmission. I paid 1,700.00 to get my transmission rebuild including the rebuild kit and torque converter. My car runs a lot better.

I changed the spark plugs in May of this year but I put some German spark plugs, and the manual says that they have to be from the acura or Japanese brand, the mechanic says that they have to be Japanese, you think maybe you have to change the spark plugs again they still look good

I did this jumper method to get the trans code and blew my #4 ACG S fuse under the hood 15 amp. Car wouldn’t start or shift into gear until I replaced this fuse. Must’ve reset something because then my reverse worked for 5 minutes until the CEL and TCS light came back on. Anyways these pins to jump weren’t the right ones in my 2000 Acura TL!
MTLJack actually this is the right video because it worked on my car. You show it at 5:26 but your diagram is reversed! When I jumped 4 and 9 like you said I blew the fuse. When I figured out it was reversed and jumped the correct pins I got light flashes for codes on TCS, Brake, SRS and the D lights in the cluster. Thanks for showing this method of getting codes but I couldn’t find what they all meant online. I found my code reader later that day though.
So “speed sensor “? Input & output ? I have a automatic Acura rsx hard shifting , can’t go into second gear , already did a trans fluid swap still doing the same hard shifting could this be the case ? Replacing the sensors would help ?

Make sure you order a high quality sensor because some sensors don't have the exact resistance and the ECU doesn't like it. Ideally, get a oem sensor. Also, don't forget to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for more than 10mins or use a obd2 reader to reset.

If its misfire ect, you should have a check engine light on, i dont think D5 bliking has anything to do with your misfires because the D5 represents the transmission itself , not the engine. Tell him to show you the codes so you can google the codes, this will allow you to find he true meaning.

This just happened to me . im sure its something along the lines of the switches , solenoid or some sensor . im planning the 3x3 drop and fill after i replace all pressure switches and solenoid . other than the lights i have no symptoms except small fluid lose . Probably just a seeping line ....
With my TL, the "D" was just flashing. I do not remember of my CEL illuminated. To get the fault code for transmission, I followed a procedure that I found online that required me to short two pins together within the OBD port. The "D" in the PRNDL and the CEL would flash flash in a specific pattern that identified a certain fault condition. In my case, it was the appropriate flashes for a failed 3rd/4th pressure switch The process is online somewhere, do at your own risk, as you are shorting out pins on the OBD port. Best use a scan tool that has the capability of pulling transmission codes. A common cheap scanner likely will not have the ability to read codes from the TCM. The bad 3rd/4th pressure switch is common to fail and is very easy to swap through the left fender well. It's cheap and a easy attempt.

@@bdpgarage The problem is that the blinking "D" goes away when I turn the engine off. There's no code to be read. Did you follow the pin diagram he provided at 5:36? Is that how you blew the fuse? Or did you reference a correct diagram from elsewhere? (His diagram is shown backwards.)

This just happen to me a few days ago I have a 2005 Acura TSX when u was on the highway the flashing d blinking so as my engine light I had bout a 1hr drive home n made it the same day my gears was stuck! N I couldn’t move only a few feet then the speed sensor would say 0mph then go slowly to 20n get stuck I was n a panic I check my trans fluid n it was empty put some in n the car got to jerking randomly so I flush the fluid it was black completely put new fluid in n it sorta runs ok but I can feel my speed odometer doesn’t keep up it reacts late from when I’m pressing the Petal n I’m thinking I need what u needed I’m praying that’s it fix the problem

My car stopped letting me shift at all and when I put in drive or reverse it just revs the rpms but doesn't move. I can move the shifter to different positions (park, drive, reverse, etc) but nothing happens, it wont even go into neutral

I don't know well enough about Civic 6th Gen sorry, sounds like a transmission sensor problem similar to mine. There should be a check engine light if its transmission sensor problem, otherwise,you have a mechanical problem.

Same thing on my 06 tl turned out to be the 3rd gear/clutch transmission fluid switch. The code was p0847 the part at my local acura dealer cost $80.

First the engine light came up then the speedometer stopped working before the D started blinking, When im driving and kinda press on gas then it kinda jerks instead of shifting...then I let go the gas and slowly step on gas until it gradually picks up speed and it will shift with no problem. One day while I was at the traffic stop the car started jerking and going from one gear to another, then I turned it off when I try to restart it, it won’t start again till date. I towed it to Honda and they keep charging me for more money testing but yet to find the problem: any one know what the problem is?

My Acura TSX 2004, won't go over ten miles an hour. It won't shift it just revs. Now, it won't reverse.
You probably have same problem as i did The computer cant figure out what gear it is in therefore, you are in limp mode. Sounds like either a speed sensor or the sensors i mentionned. Easy fixes but make sure to buy HIGH QUALITY sensors. Don't cheap out.

Ari Grande that’s similar to what I had except the car wouldn’t shift the gear up so I was stuck at like max 40kmh. The D green light kept on flashing. It’s probably either the input or output speed sensor. It should show you a check engine code so use a engine code reader!

I have a 2005 Acura TSX Auto with a code P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance/Stuck Off, and with a flashing “D”. My car won’t move at all when it’s in “Drive” or “Reverse”. Is this really a Solenoid problem? Cause I was told that that code is a transmission problem with the filter inside of the transmission. I was told that I would have to get my transmission dropped and disassembled to get to the filter inside of the transmission 😪
Unfortunately, I don’t know much about the solenoid. My problem was much simpler :(

MileHigh Built Yeah I got my car back running. It’s the transmission. I guess the filter that’s inside of the transmission they get clogged up if you don’t do a transmission flushed right away the transmission could get damage do to the fluid not flowing fluid and cause the clutches to get burnt. In order to get to the filter you have to disassembled the transmission. I paid 1,700.00 to get my transmission rebuild including the rebuild kit and torque converter. My car runs a lot better.

I changed the spark plugs in May of this year but I put some German spark plugs, and the manual says that they have to be from the acura or Japanese brand, the mechanic says that they have to be Japanese, you think maybe you have to change the spark plugs again they still look good
Yes sir, never put german / american spark plugs in Honda / Acura , ONLY use NGK.

I did this jumper method to get the trans code and blew my #4 ACG S fuse under the hood 15 amp. Car wouldn’t start or shift into gear until I replaced this fuse. Must’ve reset something because then my reverse worked for 5 minutes until the CEL and TCS light came back on. Anyways these pins to jump weren’t the right ones in my 2000 Acura TL!

And Acura TL 2000 does not have VSA, so wrong video my friend! You blew the ECU fuse.
MTLJack actually this is the right video because it worked on my car. You show it at 5:26 but your diagram is reversed! When I jumped 4 and 9 like you said I blew the fuse. When I figured out it was reversed and jumped the correct pins I got light flashes for codes on TCS, Brake, SRS and the D lights in the cluster. Thanks for showing this method of getting codes but I couldn’t find what they all meant online. I found my code reader later that day though.
MTLJack I used what would be pins 5 and 16 in the picture you are pointing to at 5:34 to get the flashing light codes.

Make sure you order a high quality sensor because some sensors don't have the exact resistance and the ECU doesn't like it. Ideally, get a oem sensor. Also, don't forget to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for more than 10mins or use a obd2 reader to reset.

If its misfire ect, you should have a check engine light on, i dont think D5 bliking has anything to do with your misfires because the D5 represents the transmission itself , not the engine. Tell him to show you the codes so you can google the codes, this will allow you to find he true meaning.

If it kicks, it means your sensor is starting to have problems.

Maybe its the sensors. When you changed the transmission, you or the mechanic re-used the same sensors.

This just happened to me . im sure its something along the lines of the switches , solenoid or some sensor . im planning the 3x3 drop and fill after i replace all pressure switches and solenoid . other than the lights i have no symptoms except small fluid lose . Probably just a seeping line ....

With my TL, the "D" was just flashing. I do not remember of my CEL illuminated.
To get the fault code for transmission, I followed a procedure that I found online that required me to short two pins together within the OBD port. The "D" in the PRNDL and the CEL would flash flash in a specific pattern that identified a certain fault condition.
In my case, it was the appropriate flashes for a failed 3rd/4th pressure switch
The process is online somewhere, do at your own risk, as you are shorting out pins on the OBD port.
Best use a scan tool that has the capability of pulling transmission codes. A common cheap scanner likely will not have the ability to read codes from the TCM.
The bad 3rd/4th pressure switch is common to fail and is very easy to swap through the left fender well. It's cheap and a easy attempt.

@@bdpgarage The problem is that the blinking "D" goes away when I turn the engine off. There's no code to be read. Did you follow the pin diagram he provided at 5:36? Is that how you blew the fuse? Or did you reference a correct diagram from elsewhere? (His diagram is shown backwards.)

@@bdpgarage His diagram is a clusterfuck. Read the numbers on the OBD2 port itself--the four corner pins should each have a number printed next to them.

This just happen to me a few days ago I have a 2005 Acura TSX when u was on the highway the flashing d blinking so as my engine light I had bout a 1hr drive home n made it the same day my gears was stuck! N I couldn’t move only a few feet then the speed sensor would say 0mph then go slowly to 20n get stuck I was n a panic I check my trans fluid n it was empty put some in n the car got to jerking randomly so I flush the fluid it was black completely put new fluid in n it sorta runs ok but I can feel my speed odometer doesn’t keep up it reacts late from when I’m pressing the Petal n I’m thinking I need what u needed I’m praying that’s it fix the problem

My car stopped letting me shift at all and when I put in drive or reverse it just revs the rpms but doesn't move. I can move the shifter to different positions (park, drive, reverse, etc) but nothing happens, it wont even go into neutral

Sounds like your transmission is slipping and starting to die. The Acura TL 3.2 , 1st gen & 2nd gen are known to have bad transmission =/

I don't know well enough about Civic 6th Gen sorry, sounds like a transmission sensor problem similar to mine. There should be a check engine light if its transmission sensor problem, otherwise,you have a mechanical problem.
