Great video, you explain everything step by step and it is much better for people just like me who are learning it and don't have a solid background on archicad :) Thanks and please continue with your vids.

I love everything about your videos. you command good knowledge and articulate every step in a very coherent way and even though I have a good background in ArchiCAD, I keep on revisiting your tutorials for more insight. Keep the good work.May Lord bless you.

Thank you . This is what I have been looking for. Very audible voice. But I didn't understand that step on the nodes, turning the cursor into magic what ?

how to insert just a point with height? not a spline, but just a point or a node and make archicad create a surface from those nodes?

Of the many TH-cam portrayals this seems to be the cleanest, clearest and most pertinent. Fun of course to hear the accent. I'm going to try and create a tool box that holds all the pertinent tools in one toolbox in the order of Robert's presentation rather than having to flit all over the place. Is it possible? It might be. And it might be very worthwhile and somewhat time saving.
Robert seems to have the "hang" of interfaces and apparently loves color, so I'd say that he is an Architect. Yes, at some point it would be worthwhile to allow us to rework the interface in color. It appears rather retro.

What's fascinating is that while I have created the ToolBar listing the tools that you have discussed in the order presented, something was missing. And since I am very new to Archicad I do not fully understand the layering process. And what's also interesting is that you apparently did a screen capture in the Mac, which I also do not know the keys to perform the capture, (in windows it's Ctrl Print Screen) to initiate this clever whole process which avoids the interminable zig zags. I love simple and clean designs and you have hit it.
I have been working on a project on St. Thomas VI which is an incredibly beautiful site that overlooks Coral Bay which the NYT said should be on everyone's bucket List. It is also said to be the model Island inspiring "Treasure Island."
So initiating this project is currently a bear for me. It looks to me that you are using what I'd call a transparent or translucent overlay. So the issue is also naming the layers and switching them into translucent overlays and reusing the spline tool again to come up with something similar to your very neat and clean drawing for the 3D model. .
I'd appreciate any help you can give and once done will send you the toolbar that you inspired.

Again, I think that this represents the cleanest approach to develop a contour model of the terrain and quite explicit yet it leaves out how to set up the project... what sheets are required and how are they named. And I think that Robert is a superb Architect who may be a bit too familiar with AC, meaning that he might inadvertantly skip some key strokes. Once the set up is established then the issue of selection is in order. Robert does not point out that the Mesh tool is a selection tool just as the so called Arrow tool is the numero uno key selection tool.. I've created 25 functionally organized tool bars and one of them is named "Select".
Systems analysis of Selections would require that all actions taken in performing the Larger Task would be chronologically ordered. That would include quirky little things like having to use the spacebar in order to help invoke the Magic Wand Tool which is like an auto place tool once selected. Is it tap once before or hold down continuously?
And Robert has not explained how he brought in the initiating image which evidently is a screen shot of his setup. It is fun to see that Robert, being a really creative architect, has colorized his MAC Menubar and placed it on the left. It really is handsome and must be a delight to use. By and large the Archicad has spent virtually no effort to colorize it's working environment nor allowed us to do so, hence it looks like something out of the 80's despite the incredible 2200 functionality. The two aren't in synch.
If Robert had not spoken up and showed us some very fine architectural projects, I would be suffering from a miasma attack. Son Justus below has picked up on Robert's greatness.

Hi, My terrain mesh looks fine on plan but shows in wireframe in 3d. i looked under settings and have cover fill turned on and surface overrides set for grass and earth. How do i see the terrain model as a solid surface instead of just lines?
Thank you for the help ! keep up these great videos. Cheers!

Dear Rober, thanks for the tutorial, but entering part-7 of the tutorial, i lost, cause from very begining i followed your video to part 6, it's all about set up and custom tool bar, etc. But in part 7 there is suddenly a drawing of slab appear. And for the beginer like me, it's really become harder to follow, cause i don't know the size of the drawing.

@@RobertMannArchitect thanks you’re a great teacher 😊 I had a look but couldn’t find any archicad 26 lessons, do you have 26 or 25 available?
