      On that trip through Romania I saw many places and was happy about the improvements in most cities. I can also recommend a trip around the country during summer. Train travel is a bit slow but still you can get around relatively easy.

    Drugs are illegal in Romania; therefore, the homelessness is not seen as it is in Canada: Vancouver, Toronto...
    The architectural variety is beautiful! Traditional home made food is great with many options to choose from!❤👍

      I also went to Brasov, Sighișoara, Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and Timisoara on that trip. This means that one video of Romania will come every 3-4 weeks as I have 100+ to be published right now

    • @g0blin11

      @@poptravelorg Thank you for sharing this. So the same cities that everyone keeps promoting. No judgement ofc I'm just curious why foreigners are attracted mostly to Bucharest and Transylvania and less on southern(Wallachia) + eastern(Moldavia).

    • @poptravelorg
      @poptravelorg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been several times to Moldova and 2 videos of Chisinau are on the channel. Iasi is still missing but it depends on the situation in Ukraine as by itself I won't visit Moldova again soon. There is no "promoting" going on as most cities are unknown to TH-cam audience anyways. Craiova and Constanta may be worth visiting yet they were not on my route and are out of the way. I happened to take a 4h bus Varna-Bucharest before going to Brasov which was great and much more convenient than going through Shumen-Ruse. There's always limited time and budget. Here it was 3 weeks Varna - Prague. A friend was robbed in Constanta I think and Craiova may be done with another Serbia or Sofia trip. Romanian trains are rather slow. Still POPtravel has one of the most diverse collections of city walks

    • @g0blin11
      @g0blin11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poptravelorg Thanks for your feedback. I understand that you are visiting the cities based on the international routes that you plan so you can optimize the quality/budget balance. My statement was rather a recommendation and my queries are curiosities. I also know that the road and railway infrastructure in Romania is in a rather poor condition especially in Moldavia, hence 1 of the reasons. However, as tips, if you ever plan to visit Iasi(or maybe other cities from Moldavia) the train trip takes 5 hours from Bucharest, faster than the road trip. As for Constanta it takes 2-2,5 hours from Bucharest by both train and car and Craiova is approximately 3-3,5 hours away. They both have nice historical centers and interesting sights which make them worth visiting. As I mentioned before, I am suggesting them to some of the popular tourist walking/vlogging channels as those cities are less promoted and visited. Robbing can happen anywhere I got friends who got robbed in Bulgaria and Serbia too. And last but not least, I appreciate your diversity and I have been watching all your tours. Keep up the good work!

      Exista solutii. Se pot pune legi prin care proprietarii sunt obligati sa mentina arhitectura antigua exterioara a cladirilor, sa mentina tencuiala si varuit tot...de altfel sa fie ilegal acoperitul cu mesh-uri publicitare etc toate cladirile vechi ale orasului. Pe baza de amenzi se poate reface tot...si un pic de ajutor din partea statului ca sa se refaca tot, ca sa nu plateasca totul proprietarii. Am observat cate cladiri cu tencuiala cazuta...pacat

    • @Iulius_
      @Iulius_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@phorias lege mi se pare că există deja, dar cine o respecta? Mă refeream nu numai la aspectul clădirilor ( unele clădiri sunt proprietatea statului, cum ar fi clădirea Universității, și care arata în ultimul hal, plina de graffiti), dar și la cum arata străzile, grămezi de pietre sărite din pavaj, placi desprinse din pavaj, care troncanesc când calci pe ele, buruieni pe sub clădiri, chiar în centru, exact ca la un gospodar prost, rușine, mare rușine.

    • @phorias
      @phorias 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Iulius_ probabil amenzile nu sunt destul de mari sau nu se aplica legile daca exista. In Barcelona pe unde stau functioneaza asta. Sunt amenzile atat de mari incat este totul aranjar. Eu cred ca e si lipsa de bani care duce la delasare...pacat, pentru ca centrul vechi in Bucuresti este punct turistic...si acum cu mobilele ajunge pe internet si este pentru totdeauna...sa vada altii cum iti "pui chilotii la uscat" afara pe balcon :(

    • @Iulius_
      @Iulius_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phorias la delăsare duce nu numai lipsa de bani, dar și lenea și ignoranța și lipsa de cultura, daca vrei, și de asta este de vina in primul rand primarul/ primarii. Să repari niște străzi din care sar pietrele, sau sa angajezi pe cineva să taie buruienile de sub clădiri, care repet sunt chiar pe străzile ultracentrale și cel mai frecventate de turiștii străini, nu costa sume enorme, mai ales că sunt o grămadă de asistați social, care trebuie sa presteze munca in folosul comunității, pentru acel ajutor, dar se preferă să se facă de râs, nu numai capitala, dar și întreaga țară.

      What I like most about Bucharest are the many art deco buildings. One has to understand that most European cities expanded greatly in the second half of the nineteenth century, in Bucharest it was more in the Twenties and Thirties of the twentieth century.

I think you're trying to paint some kind of picture of romania as backwards when in fact most of its lack of "progress" historically has been because of nonstop invading forces tearing everything down like the ottomans and even "internally" the communists destroying countless historic buildings
