Same. Not gonna do it again and I am a container gardener. Most stopped growing and died on the vine. dropping seeds in the ground to see if I can get some melons in late October fingers crossed.
I tried to start mine in a pot and then transferred it to the ground. My AZ Sun melted them. New Gardner too. Thanks for sharing! Will go straight to ground next time.
I am doing an experiment with growing them both ways too.. So far the in grown is darker green and more productive.. And I am growing in larger totes..

Yes, And also the ones in our raised bed we didn't prune at all. We let it grow wild and so far so good with the sugar babies and crimson melons
