Jack Youngblood Tribute

  • This is a tribute to Jack Youngblood my favorite football player of all time. He had a motor, had to go around larger obstacles to get to his objective, was a leader, and not even a broken leg would keep him down. I took my son Nick to see him get inducted into the Hall of Fame and when I had another son I named him Jack after you know who.
Jack Youngblood called me once on the phone and I was beyond excited and then we have e-mailed back and forth over the years periodically. He is genuine, kind and although I have been blessed to work with major movie stars there is something about seeing your childhood hero be so nice that I felt compelled to create this tribute video for him.
I would like to thank the NFL, the players, announcers, producers, crew, photographers, musicians, NFL Films and all of the many parts it takes to put all of these fun images, pieces and footage together. I do not own this and am simply a fan paying respect and hopefully educating new people on the excellent football player and high moral character guy that Jack Youngblood is. Hope you enjoy!

Jack came and hung out with us at our tiny, urban boys school back in '74.
There we were, a gang of punky, toe headed bible students and a Los Angeles Ram, Jack Youngblood, came
to talk football with us after school.
Was very good for our self esteem and I was always very appreciative. A great guy and player.

In high school I was working as a golf starter at a par 3 golf course in Long Beach. I had my back turned from the window when I heard a voice say..Excuse me….I turned around I saw the biggest dude in my life. It was Jack Youngblood and he said he was meeting a few buddies for golf. He filled the entire window and his buddies were fellow Rams. Great memory

Amazing those Rams never won a championship. The team that hung tough for three quarters against the Steelers in Super Bowl 14 was not the best Rams team of that era. Thanks for posting this!

They had to contend with the 70's Cowboys with Staubach/Dorsett/Randy White. If not for them, they probably would have gone to 2-3 more Superbowls.

Can anyone speculate why this man is not on any list of the best 100 players ever? They all mostly politically correct jokes anyway. So it doesn't make much difference. Those of us who have been around for a while know who the greats are.

Jim Plunkett, the qb handing off at 1:13 for the Pats was more popular later in the 70s for the Raiders was someone I met in Vegas. I was 20, (almost 50 now) and he was next to me at a Black Jack table at the Las Vegas Hilton. I said good to meet you Jim, I'm a big fan, and shook his hand. He had a dead fish soft handshake and I couldn't believe it cuz he, like Jack, was also one tough M Fkr! Whatever. That was 1989, and at the same place, LV Hilton in 1975 my dad watched Evil get up from a table and diverted the crowd by taking his 5 and 25 dollar chips and tossing them on the ground and walking away. A move he had probably perfected yrs earlier. Evil was a stud!

I shopped there quite a bit and when he was at the store he was a charming SOB... talkative, personable, made you feel like you were a personal friend. I looked forward to shopping at his store because hanging out with Jack was always a positive experience.. the man will always be a stud.
