Thanks for watching my video and comment Phil. These loco motors are ultra smooth & totally quiet (& that's straight out of the box) Cheers, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
The Deltic looks stunning. I like the smoothness of the motor set-up they're using; I got an A Class Metro-Vickers made for Irish Railway Models early in the year. It's a pity about the 'spare bit' in the bottom of the inner bag, not like it was in with the 'Options Pack' but I dare say it'll smooth out the hesitant slow running with a run-in. Thanks for posting the arrival of the newest model, Eddie. Cheers!
Thanks for watching my video and comment. It's strange the same part in both my models had come away. I just don't know where its meant to be from to re-fit. The motor is so smooth & ultra quiet. Best I've ever experienced in a new out of the box loco. Cheers mate, all the best, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
Excellent review. Received my RSG today. What struck me most, apart from the tiny scratch, loose piece and a pushed in head code, was that the grills were not silvered as on the website pictures.
Thanks for watching my video and comment. Sorry you had so many issues with your loco. I will have to check out the non silver grills, that's a major failing really, not good. Cheers Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
@@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 I see that the website now has pictures of the current model with grey grills but the group photo of 4 Deltics still has the silvered one!
I contacted Accurascale on this subject. Was told correct colour of roof grilles was This Grey. Not Silver as previously shown & stated in description. Only the fuel tanks were Silver on the real loco of RSG. They even gave me links to reference material on the proper real loco & pictures showing grey roof. I know to me they some what tricked us all with the false info & pictures being Silver before locos actually arrived
Think They should have told us at Accurascale it was going to be grey roof. I've just found this on the subject of silver roof grilles www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=ukrailways1970tilltoday.me.uk/Peterboroughplatform4page4.html&ved=2ahUKEwjzh_fjwdH4AhVK_4UKHQtHAQcQFnoECAcQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1Chi0AHLgvXMI67Ul1Hoz1
Thanks for watching my video and comment. There's still chance you can get a Deltic. Accurascale have said once pre orders have been sent there should be surplus to requirement locos. These will be put into General Stock & available to purchase. So head over to the Deltic Class 55 loco section and put an interest request if stock becomes available. Hope you know what I mean. But it does explain on the Deltic page on their website. Hope you manage to get 1 ordered. You will have to be quick as it will be very limited stock. Cheers mate, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
Wow mate looks stunning and sounds amazing mate well done to you very very lucky, did you notice in the cab interior when you was running it, the dashboard and buttons was all lit up very nice feature I thought, super super stunning deltic, excellent video as always take my friend kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Thanks for watching my video and comment Danny. I never noticed the dashboard when I was running it. I always look at the view from my phone, so will have to watch my own vids later to see what everyone else sees. As with other peoples reviews bits have fallen off in the packaging. Theres so much little highly fragile bits fitted. Would never know if bits were missing or not. Cheers mate 📽🚂🎞👀
I got the Accurascale "Fife and Forfar Yeomanry", it too had a little black piece amongst the wrapping. God alone knows where it's from but hey-ho, the rest of it seems ok. I like the "Royal Scots Grey"; lovely colours.
Thank you for watching my video and comment Gerry. There's so much wee detail bits on these models the bits that have fallen off could come from anywhere. If it's LIKE A WEE LADDER it's from the loco corners. If you look in the paperwork that you got with it hopefully you can see where it's come from. Best of luck Gerry locating where from. Cheers mate, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚆🧑🔧🎬👀
@@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 Thanks very much Kevin for replying to my comment. Like the work you are doing so l subscribe to your channel to improve mine to get some great ideas. Thanks DD.
I’ve got a couple of these. I had to remove the body to put in the driving crew. Those chains are very fiddly to remove so you can get the body off. They’ve done an upgrade now where you just push fit. Cracking model though
Thank you so very much for watching my video and comment Carl. Yes I've noticed these next batch of 55's have quite a few mods. Accurascale have taken us as Guinea Pigs on the 1st run to point out all there mistakes. But we are still left with these models that arnt great for us modellers to fix & get right. I ordered & got 2 sets of crew. But the only way I will fit them is if I have to take the body off as a last resort to something. Wonder did you get the sound versions & if so have you noticed speaker vibration. Cheers Kevin 🙋♂️🤝👍📽🎬🚆👀
@@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 yeah both are sound versions, initially with the chip fitted by accurascale but the second one I did myself with the accurathrash kit
Think the only way you can look at it is do you prefer an accurascale model with 10% of the bits falling off or the Bachmann model with fewer bits to fall off? The accurascale wagons I think are a good balance between detail and robustness but not had a loco yet. Your Deltic still looks good to me .
Thanks for watching my video and comment Alan. Theres so much little fragile details on these models. You would never really know if bits fall off if you didnt see them. The motor is so quiet and smooth. Im used to noisey Hornby & Bachmann models straight out of the box. Cheers mate, Kevin 📽🚂🎞👀
I think every vid i`ve watched somethings in the box, I agree with you, they`ve gone to far with separately added parts it`s getting the point where you dear not use and leave it on show which is not why I bought one, god helps us if you get a derail, Does sound nice, I have the bachmann one with sound it`s streets ahead of that.
Thanks for watching my video and comment Clive. Yes I agree, I've also watched some vids on YT & as you say there's always some bits in bottom. Cheers Clive, stay safe mate, 📽🚂🎞👀🙋♂️👍🤝
Thanks for watching my video and comment. I've watched many people's videos & it seems most have little bits of detail that have come away. But as someone pointed out, you are getting a lot for your money compared to other manufacturers. Yours hopefully will arrive with no bits loose. Cheers Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
A couple of TH-cam isn't really a reflection of the thousands of models already out there without issue :) Like any highly detailed model, a bit of rough handling in transit and you might lose a few bits, but you can hardly go wrong for £160!
That’s probably one of the key points. Would you rather pay more for dated versions that are robust rather than spend 20 minutes with some glue and a cocktail stick?
Hi Stephen. I had 2 models delivered. Both had loose items in bottom of Ice Cube. My Porterbrook also has 1 screw missing from bottom of model in middle of fuel tank. My Royal Scots Grey also has paperwork sheet missing explaining the head codes. So both these issues are a Quality Control failing. If you work for Accurascale please answer me back, thank you, Kevin
Hi Andrew, thank you so very much for watching my video and comment. The Deltic is sound fitted, so it cost me £250 UK. Which for a sound fitted loco is a fair price, as sometimes other manufacturers can have similar on sale for £100 more. Model Railways has now become a very expensive hobby. But Hornby do TTS decoders for some steam & Diesel locos, roughly for anything up to about £50. So if you pick up 1 of their Railroad models for roughly £70-80, then £50 TTS, you can get a decent sound loco for about £120-130. Cheers, hope this bit of info has helped you, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝🔊🚅🎞👀
Thanks for watching my video and comment Simon. Like someone pointed out to me, you pay more than what we paid for these Deltics from other manufacturers. And their locos arnt as detailed or run as smooth as these. A little bit of things coming off can be put down to rough handling in transit. I know in my videos I sounded really P'd off. But think that's mostly due to the anticipated opening of these long awaited locos & finding a few problems. Believe me these are still world class items. Cheers, Kevin 🙋♂️👍🤝📽🚂🎞👀
