I like to use the Cryptosteel Metal cylinders for seed phrase and password storage which is fire proof as well as a paper record. They are rather expensive, but at least for larger accounts it is a nice extra measure.

Thank you. I am still questioning why we do not keep our cryptos in exchange /custody if you choose a reputable exchange. In my opinion, the risk of hacking the exchange is much harder than hacking my devices. The risk of cold wallet is high because you may forget, damage, death etc. Plus, reputable exchange has insurance. Similar like stock, who own the real stock certificate? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, thx for the summary. It´s a comprehensive overview, I´d say.
However, I haven´t noticed any note about the 25th word for HW wallets like Trezor. I mean the 25th word, the PW that distinguishes different "hidden wallets" on the same HW. It also makes you less vunerable to the "5usd wrench attack" - you simply tell the attacker(s) where you keep the 24-word seed backup or the HW wallet itself (+the PIN), but you don´t have to tell them the 25th word that protects the main part of your portfolio.
