The V-ROD in my opinion is a engineering masterpiece, It's sad that more people did not recognize this machine along with the Buell that came along around the same time as the v rod, Had this bike had a DUCATI emblem on it we would still be hearing the praise's of it. I love Harley's..I love all motorcycles as a matter of fact, but theirs just some that stand out thru time, the V-ROD. HONDA RC 51.BMW S1000r , yamaha V-max. any many many more. there will come a time when we will look back and think wow how did everyone not notice this machine. Harley has been trying to become a modern ,fresh and innovative company filled with technology . I hope the consumer market will help them advance with that.👍👍✌
The Vrod engine is the most dependable engine Harley ever made! Unlike the wives tail that Porsche built it, it was designed by Harley and Eric Buell for the VR1000 race bike. Harley had Porsche help make it streetable with their advanced fuel injection and cylinder head knowledge. The first prototype Vrod used the VR1000 race motor but it was a scary ride. The Vrod engine destroys the Milwaukee 8 on all fronts. Harley is destroying itself with bad engineering decisions, I dont think Harley will survive. The CEO just stepped down as well, not good. Harley should build a super naked like the KTM Super duke! (Think Vrod engine in a tube frame buell) They could bump up the power to around 180 like the destroyer and they would sell like hot cakes. The Super duke is vert expensive but they cant make them fast enough! The old bagger die hards are dying off, literally!

LOVE the V-Max, Buell Lightnings and many other GREAT models that got KILLED off because the general public couldn't catch on, or appreciate the handling/design or aesthetic aspects of these bikes! Fully AGREE! I had the VRSCR or "Street Rod" variant of the VRod. It has increased suspension height, inverted forks, and could actually CORNER, properly STOP (Dual Brembo front/Single Brembo rear). It was released stateside in 2005 but HD called it 2006 model. THAT was the BEST handling HD I EVER owned but HD killed it off! OBVIOUSLY in Europe the VRod variants are Uber popular. American HD biker-majority just aren't into: HDs that are reliable & can actually PERFORM and HANDLE well. 🤔😏

I am an European passionate about the engine, about the feelings of a machine that transports us in a way that could never have been thought of until recently. From here in Europe, I think as I see that the most authentic, most original Harleys are seen in European concentrations. You can tell, you feel that these European bikers are taking a route, not a 10 mile ride at all. (maybe in the US they are not able to value their history, I'll leave it there). In short, they are classic brands, and if they released a "real" classic model with today's engineering quality, we would drool. all, and they don't; because they fall into the linearity of the stereotype of the marked design, how horrible). They don't do that, I understand that there is a lot of money invested in the market to "tune" even a shadow of us, but... is it really necessary? I love these classic vehicles, I hope they keep it. Desde aqui europa, pienso segun veo de que las harley mas autenticas, mas originales se ven en las concentraciones europeas. Se nota, se siente de que hacen ruta estos moteros europeos, no un paseo de 10 millas si acaso. (tal vez en US no son capaces de valorar su historia, ahí lo dejo). En fin, son marcas clásicas, que si sacan un modelo clasico "de verdad" con la calidad de ingenieria de hoy se nos caeria la baba a todos, y no lo hacen; pues entran en la linealidad del estereotipo del diseño marcado, que horror).
