- In this video I explore some classic locations in extreme frozen conditions, with temperatures as low as -11 C.
In the River Coupall my tripod froze and the batteries on my camera and pocket 2 depleted fast.
Its good to back after being in the States where I learned lessions in photography landscape and look forward to putting them in place for winter photography in the Highlands of Scotland.

Thanks Cliff, much appreciated !
amazing shots and great video loved this wot a place cant wait for the next adventure
It’s only going to get better.
I recommend carrying your batteries in your pocket where it is warmer, and just putting them in when you want to use them. I live in Canada and this works for minus 30 or 40 no problem.
Love the images, it's looks risk, glad the pup is warm and you to.Eric
well fella am new to your channel and i must say you have some fantastic images 👌
a few i have already taken while in Glencoe some al be taking early next year when am back in gods country
Seasonal greetings to you and yours hopefully see you when am up that way 👍
Seasonal greeting to you too.
I have lots on Glencoe, I spend more time here than I do in my back garden. I’ve been going to Glencoe for more than 30 years so I know it quite well. Do check out my previous videos here and on Scotland, it may come in useful if your visiting for locations. Thank you for your kind comment and for watching..
@@CliffHands yes i have watched a good few so far if i lived closer i would be there daily but must not complain as i live in Northumberland and we have plenty to shout about here
Keep up the good work and what three word locations 👌
All the best fella 👍
Absolutely stunning images Cliff.. Loved your wee helicopter dance too! Great stuff sir!💙
Hahah…keeps me warm that helicopter…
Great images Cliff. Unfortunately I was working this weekend. Hopefully there’s some snow left for the following week when I’m off.
Such beautiful footage. And the shots you took are amazing. I was in Glencoe back in April 2022 and visited some of the spots you showed in this video. But I was not fortunate with the weather. Low water levels and no dramatic skies. Colors were quite dull but I enjoyed every minute of the trip... My pictures weren't nearly a s good as yours but it was worth the effort :)
Thank you for the support. It just means you will have to get back and do a revisit. My best time in Glencoe to visit for me personally is Feb, you have the Rivers in spate and aqua colours…📷
freddino da quelle parti ❄❄...e poi niente di meglio che il calore di una bella stufetta ,il tuo compagno ringrazia 🤣
Nice video and conditions. Will try the helicopter ❄️😅 Cheers from Norway
what a shame the Cosmo failed. I had a few battery nightmares as well. Ended up filming a bit on my Nikon like professional TH-camrs!!! Great images Cliff. Yep that loan tree looked fantastic when I drove past.
Welcome back, just at the right time it seems. Fabulous conditions at Glencoe and so are the images.
thank you
I am just here for the "helicopter" 😁😁😁
That hoarfrost makes for epic images Cliff. I'm due up in mid March but this video has convinced me that I should book a December/Jan trip up there even if I have to hire a 4WD vehicle. Thanks also for the location info. Some photographers use various excuses to keep all locations secret when they have benefited from seeing the info others have posted and know that most people won't walk more than 250m from a parking spot! I shot some of your 'Lone tree' sites last March and found a few extras in the process so really appreciate the guidance you give your followers. Have a great Christmas.
Really good feed back Steve. Thank you 🙏 Yes I’m not shy on my locations, I reveal all my locations to prove it can be done by anyone. Also for anyone who wants to visit the area to get there bearings…hail to what three words.
Thank you for watching. Cliff.
Absolutely stunning Glencoe wintershots !! Got some advice the best way to get to Ralston Cairn ? Cheers and all the best Cliff !
Best way is follow the old engineers road from the lay-by at the lone tree. At the end turn right up the hill near the pillbox. You’ll see it..👍
Brilliant as always Cliff. At least you wouldn't have had to battle the tourist. Top images!
It was totally dead in Glencoe. Not a soul about. Thanks for your support Wayne.
I aspire to be like you one day!
Great location, amazing conditions and a fantastic video. Your're also nuts standing in that river!
I’m always nuts . I’m just revealing my true self…😂
Absolutely stunning Cliff from beginning to end.Great conditions throughout very well done.Hope your feet dried out quickly.
Absolutely stunning images, as usual. I especially love the one of the Ralston Cairn with Thee Sisters in the background 🥰 I visited this past August but didn’t get nearly enough time in GV (1 day 🙄), even thought that day was time well spent. I’m planning a trip back in fall 2025 and spending far more time in Glencoe 😁
Do you drive between locations with icy wet boots on?
I change into my flipflops😃
Love your shots. Absolutely stunni g.
Thank you for your kind comment Betty. I love Glencoe. Been going there now for over 30 years. Again thank you. 🙏
Great video again wondered if you knew a so called fellow professional was moaning how you gave out “what three words” and wish didn’t I for one really appreciate it
Just watched it…😂 Appreciate your comment.
@@CliffHands nice one Cliff
crazy sod haha
Thanks Cliff, Stunning images of the Buachaile in mist with frozen river - mountain looks suspended in sky. Thanks for the 3 words locations - I used these on a recent trip there. Greatly appreciated. Jimmy
Glad you enjoyed it. thank you
Seriously......you need to talk to someone about unnecessary risks.
awesome loved it and thank you very much for all the location references
Great video and superb images as always 🙌👍
40s in the video, epicness confirmed
Super images once again & thanks for bringing us this film under those conditions 👌👍
Some superb Images there , thank you
Amazed by the beauty that you managed to capture in those sub zero temperatures - Really felt for you when you were stomping through that ice! Great effort
Cliff shows that helicopter again😂
Great shots cliff the snow and frosts just transforms a composition 👏👏
Brilliant images but we didn’t get to appreciate them for long enough. The zoom on takes ages then when we see the full image it’s gone a second later.
Oh! I will take that on board for the next video, I’m back in the highlands very soon…thank you.
outstanding images Cliff!!
thank you for watching.
Some fantastic compositions but the images looked very flat on my monitor
It was hard work. The conditions were brutal. I will have a look at images. The fog bank rolled in super fast on the Coupall. Il be back in Glencoe very soon for more winter conditions with a supply arsenal of batteries 😂
You never fail to amaze with your gorgeous shares! I love watching your expeditions! PLEASE keep them coming. ❤
