Thanks for the info! This is cool! Could you do a video showing the process involved to go from cube of skin into a gash or wound?? I know where you're going with it, i just wanna see how you get there..
you did a great job! I loved your technique. I want to make elf ears for my performance and now am going to try your instruction. I will back and will let you know what did I do. thanks really. btw, right now I dont have Corn Syrup. can I use corn flour and Glycerin instead corn syrup?
Personally I do not. Due to without water it will get hard and could clog. But with hot water and soap it could would. I just always throw it away in the dumpster.
Making trauma FX products for films. Mostly quick on the fly stuff, but ironically enough I had everything I needed for this as I ran out and I'm sitting here like, damn I guess I'm making it now!
I have seen a lot of people saying that you have to use glycerine instead of the corn syrup. I would assume that glycerine makes the solution have a longer shelf life versus corn syrup, but I can't be certain of this. Can anyone speak to this at all? I know in this video, he stated that you should keep the sfx gelatin frozen or refridgerated.
Yes you just heat in the microwave for a few secs at a time and then mold or create your sfx with it either on parchment paper or directly on your skin but be careful not to burn yourself
What are you going to make with your Sfx Gelatin #sfxgelatin

Oh that sounds so cool. But I am not sure about Flour but Glycerin could be a product to sub for corn syrup.
@@DeadLightStudio thanks for guide. yeah I thought of Glycerin but dont know how much I have to use instead of corn syrup. any suggestions?
Hey I think if you add one part glycerin inside the corn syrup that should work. As long as the ratio is 1:1 with the water.
@@DeadLightStudio Thanks for guide. its not possible to use only Glycerin?
I wouldn’t know for sure but it’s definitely worth check that out.
How long does this materials last?
Can I use any glucose syrup (derived not from corns)?
I think so. Chemistry wise it could be the same
What do buyou use this stuff for? Is it like liquid latex?
is there any difference between corn syrup and glycerine
One spoils, one dosen’t I think
How do you clean the beaker where you make this gelatin? Can you wash it with hot water over the sink and is it safe for plumbing?
Personally I do not. Due to without water it will get hard and could clog. But with hot water and soap it could would. I just always throw it away in the dumpster.
curious, the sound in the back was it taken from warzone2100 :). I remember them days, the good ol days.

Will this be pliable or hardened? (Similar to a resin mold)

What can you make with this, show us in a video
I’m thinking of doing a whole series with SFX gelatin. Let me know if you have any cool ideas.
When you let it harden can you melt it down again

My mix of 1:1:1 water cirn syrup gelatin is really liquid, not at all like shown in the video
Can you use it right out of the microwave on your face for a zombie ?
Apply liquid latex first to your skin before the gelskin so it sticks to skin but make sure that the gelskin is cool enough to apply to skin.
