I am over the moon travelling to these remote aeeas of my beloved Sirmaur with Himbus. My gratitude to Avinash, Dixit and everyone involved with the production. Here are a few of my thoughts at this moment :
1. You told us the story about the street performer who fell into the river & cursed the king. And the river was named Giri after her.
We have of course heard a different story.
A bunch of sadhus had decided to create a place as holy as Kashi in the hills of Himachal. For this, they chose a location at Nirmand in Shimla district. The group brought Gangajal from Haridwar for this purpose. As they were trekking to Nirmamd, they halted for rest at a place called Kuppar Bugyal near Khara Patthar. During that halt, the Kamandal carrying Gangajal accidently fell from a sadhu's hand and Gangajal was spilled. One sadhu exclaimed 'Oh Ganga Giri'. Miraculously, a spring came out of that spot and became a river. Over time, that river came to be known as Giri Ganga.
I hope someone can tell us if both stories are true. 😊
2. I have travelled on the NH 907 from Kumarhatti to Nahan many times. It's an absolute joy to travel on that beautiful road. I have even come from Morni side and have joined NH 907 at Lowasa Chowki, 29 kms from Nahan. Plus, once I even travelled from Naina Tikkar downwards on a forest road to reach Thapli near Chandi Mandir, Pinjore. Locals told me that the road was illegal and the case is in court.
Sarahan, Naina Tikkar are both beautiful hill towns with breathtaking views of the valley below.
3. Nahan is a beautiful historical town as you said. It is also inextricably linked to Dasam Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru ji spent many years here during his travels, and later stopped at Raipur Rani and Nada Sahib on way to Sirhind. All three places have beautiful Gurudwaras dedicated to Guru Ji.
4. I have visited Baru Sahib too, although I came from Solan Rajgarh side. The divine peace and energy of that place is only seen to be believed. You would be fascinated to know that there is a beautiful forest road which connects Baru Sahib with Oachghat near Kumarhatti via the stunning villages of Wasni and Nairag. Bitumen work was left when I went in 2021. I am sure its been completed now.
There was cloudburst and flood incident in Baru Sahib in 2022. Thankfully, no one was hurt but there was a lot of damage.
I am only waiting for the Paonta Sahib - Hatkoti National Highway to be formally inaugurated. I will definitely travel from Chandigarh on that road towards Shilai, Gumma, Fediz Bridge, Nerwa, Chaupal and Hatkoti - Pabbar Valley - Chirgaon. On the way back, I will cover Haripurdhar, Renuka Ji and Gattadhar. I hope my dream can be fulfilled in October 2024.

ठाकुर भाई एक बात बताओ l सिखों ने अपने हर धार्मिक जगह के नाम के आगे भी साहब और पीछे भी श्री लगाया है पर हमने क्यों नहीं ? मुझे याद है एक बार नाहन से हरिपुरधार वाली रोड पर जहाँ सरदारों की मीट की बहोत ज़्यादा दूकान हैं वहां मैंने दो तीन जगह रुक रुक कर पुछा की माता रेणुका जी का रास्ता बता दो तो सभी रेणुका रेणुका रेणुका कह कर बोल रहे थे l ये हम हिन्दुओं की नपुंसकता ही तो है की हमारे माँ बाप को दूसरा तू कह कर चला जाता है पर हमें उसके माँ बाप को आप कहना पढता है वार्ना वो हमें मार देगा

Bhai esa nahi short m log ese hi bolte hai Paonta Sahib ko bhi Paonta hi bolte hai.
Renuka ji ko Dadahu or Renuka dono bolte hai.
Bhangani Sahib ko Bhangani bolte hai.
Esa kuch nahi ye sb bekaar ki baatein hai jo aap soch rhe ab naam to vohi lenge na jo sbne common bna diya or isse devi devta ki respect kam nhi hojati.
Bolte to Shivji ko bhi Bhola hai to kya unki respect km hojegi iss se.👍👍
