love Jason but this stuff is only affordable for rich people ...like celebrities and rubs not priced for real bikers....would love to see Harley carry something similar but affordable. The Working Persons Collection....Slogan being "Affordable Classic clothing for the masses who saved their pennies and finally were able to buy their dream bike, the folks who work their ass off for little pay, who live paycheck to paycheck, those old timers and new timers trying to get by and hold onto their dream".
As far as I can tell Harley Davidson has never been the "affordable" brand. Ever.
If a person is living "paycheck to paycheck" they probably aren't (or at least shouldn't be) buying their clothes from Harley Davidson.
@@candlstudios nope...not true....I bought my dream, been riding for over 26 years. It took me a while to save up for my first Harley at age 27. I'm 61 now and still ride a Harley at 14.25 an hour wage.
Saw a 98 dyna on the web (FB Marketplace) at my local dealership. Thing looked like they had scored it off madmax. Price was $3900. I went down to take a look. Went for a test ride and loved how loud, fast and just plain shitty this bike was. Only people in the whole place that liked it other then me was the old bikers and the mechanic. Had a cigarette lighter wired into the horn, need I say more. This is the part of the story were HD and affordability part ways. After the test ride we get back and in walks "The Closer". He slides the screw job price in front of me. $6500.00!!! I says "FOR THAT"? He says "will what would you consider"? I says MAYBE 4K, $4500 at the most", only because they went through it, 1 year warranty, tax, tags, and title type of stuff.. He walks off and comes back in like 1.2 mins and says "$4500 it is". And I threw the old "Nope" and the big boss yells in $4200 and I says "today only, right"? and he says "Yep". And I says "gotta ask my wife". Ohh they didn't like that, so big boss says "come on man just write a check". And that's when I said "no thanks". So I meandered over to check out the HD helmets, a skull cap for $250. I left
Moral of the story...buy used bikes and learn how to at least do basic maintenance and shop at the thrifty store for some Dickies, Red Caps or Levi's and pay $9. Hell you can even get a helmet there for like $15-20. Leave that fancy pants BS to the movie stars and their hot wives. That's what I say!
Wow so true. Our world is disgusting. Sure, we should all be free to do whatever we want. But most cars and motorcycles are so overpriced, and the insurance premiums cost as as much as the loan payment. I wanted to get a new Hayabusa for $16,000. The 2020 model red Hayabusa is the most beautiful color ever. But after calling around, I got an insurance quote of $375 a month, for the insurance. You have to pay yearly for motorcycles, so it would have been about $4100 just for one year of insurance. Then looking at helmets. The Arai, and Shoei helmets, that don't even look nice at all, are $700.
if you have to work your ass off to buy your dream bike.. why not work your ass off to buy your dream leather jacket?... why would an expensive premium brand make cheap products? also who are you to say what a "real biker" is? Momoa loves riding less than you do?

Looks like Momoa loves the more classic type of H-D, so do many of the customers. So why doesn't the company continue manufacturing the classic bikes?
Because r and d is cheaper then general labor in the computer age. They would rather pump out new modern nonsense then find a way to bring a midsize cruiser to market for under 10k. Indian is american and can bring a scout sixty to market for 9k this bike is bigger and faster then the sportster.. I love harley but they gotta get their heads out of their rear end.

$750 jacket. But it’s not just for celebrities and rich people. There are average people who value this kind of thing. Value will always be subjective. Most will see it and think it’s overpriced. Others might see it and think: Limited edition, quality, Vanson leather, made in the USA, will probably be something I can wear and pass down generations. Right now this jacket is sold out. People will spend any amount of money on what they value. Most of you probably got TV’s that are 3 times the cost but will last only 3-5 years..
I know for a fact there was a lot of pride in producing that jacket and other garments!!... Executed beautifully!😁

Love my Heritage, probably won’t own another brand but I’m certainly not impressed by Hollywood. I ride for therapy and love of the Highway and I buy what I can afford. If I want Tommy Bahama shirts I’d buy them from another store. My leather won’t be bought at the dealer. Love my Foxcreek jacket and pants. If Harley chooses to use Hollywood then I guess that’s their choice. We all buy what we want and can afford and if you are drawn in by “actors” then so be it. I look for safety first, then 🇺🇸, and price.

I buy Harley gear because it is competitively priced, and usually top quality. I feel I'm truly getting what I pay for. That jacket at $800, no. I have a leather jacket that I had custom made to fit me personally by a tailor in San Francisco (Fog City Leather) with the highest quality materials, several meetings with the owner of the shop, and also met with the seamstress actually making the jacket for fittings,,, and I paid $900. An $800 jacket off the rack, no thank you.

Well finally, the HD merchandising team is stepping up the game. Don't get me wrong, these garments are not really unusual nor are they something unseen or well thought out, but at least the collection is following contemporary trends. Maybe one day, there will come a clothing designer that will change the way H-D's tryin' to dress their riders and dream-to-be riders.
I really wish they were open to hire international designers and professionals from the sector who understand what it takes to create a functional and aesthetical garment. After all, the H-D's spirit and community spans far beyond the borders of the United States.
