- Back in Dec. I finally got to link up with John Collinson. There had been a week of high pressure, so we figured groomers would be the best case for getting in some turns together. But of course we started skiing and found some soft snow and some fun airs. I love getting to hang out with John, and was a blast skiing around Alta with him again.
One of my first times at snowbird my ski popped off on a steep section and I slid down the entire run while my ski stayed up top. So I hiked 3/4 of the way back to the top and I see this guy ripping teles down to me holding my ski. It turned out to be Jonny Collinson who said it was his first time trying tele skiing 🤣 He then proceeded to send a huge backie further down the run. Guy is definitely a legend

I remember my Uncle skiing with me as a kid and he said "you just traverse around the mountain hitting jumps" nothing has changed! lol
Are you rocking booster straps? If so what level ones? I am looking to get a pair and like to ski a similar style as you, albeit hardly a fraction of the skill you guys ride at.
Oh yeah. Our new boots have an atomic version built in now. but Ive use the Pro Booster strap, but not the WC one.. think that is on level more stiff.

Would like to ask you which ski you prefer for such lines or this type of skiing? What flex should the ski boot have?
I prefer skiing on the Backlands, and the Mavericks for the most part, the Bent 110s are also one of my favorites. I use a 130 flex boot but depending on your weight, and skiing style the 110-120 or 130 flex are great for this type of skiing.

good call! its been such a blizzard the ski hills been pretty much shut down. But ive got several trips rolling the next two weeks! and the storm still rolls on!
