I'm happy you're posting this here since i dont usually attend instagram live, I love how the music isn't too loud that you can't hear the turning of pages. I'm currently reading The People We Meet on Vacation and it's going really well. I really like the dynamic of the relationship between the two characters so far.
For a book club I recently joined we decided on “the fill-in boyfriend”. We’re all over 18 reading about highschool drama and honestly I’m living for it. It’s like reading a chick flick movie. 😂
i've just read twice as much as i usually do in less than 30 minutes!! starting read-along streams is a wonderful idea, Jack! i think it's a combination of calm music, ambient background noises (that page turning is just *chef's kiss*) and the realisation that somebody out there is reading at the same time with you that really put me in a great reading mood
We loved this tonight! Didn't catch it live, but we hope to tomorrow. Vermont, USA. The volume was perfect. Enjoyed the music choice. It was so cool to see that over 2300 views had happened at an hour after posting! Very inspiring. Thanks for doing this.
i find it so hard to set aside time to read no matter how much i love it. when reading gatsby i had to put on half an hour timers so that i wouldn’t do anything until the alarm went off, and focus on reading (but needed up using the timer 5 more times after the first). this is really helpful because even though i’m not talking to anyone + not even watching it live it makes me feel like everyone is reading together and it just feels more communal. so thank u v much

Ah I'm currently reading through her Poirot Series - I'm at "Lord Edgware dies" :D I just love her mysteries, not too easy but also not to hard, and sometimes very funny!
The last few weeks have been crazy busy for me and the lifestreams were very late for my time zone, making me unable to join them live or even come back to them later. Now I’ve finally got the time and I leave them on in the background while reading „Last Night at the Telegraph Club“. I’m having a bit of trouble getting into the book, so these livestream recordings are ideal to motivate me since I don’t want to give up and dnf it quite yet. Thanks for this, Jack!

Yay! Glad to hear you read Project Hail Mary! I’m pretty sure I recommended it in a comment to you not long ago, so I’m going to flatter myself with the thought that you took my recommendation! And if it wasn’t because of me, I am at least glad that I was correct that you would/did enjoy it. Of course I think it’s a fabulous book and think lots of different kinds of people would enjoy it. But it seems like our tastes in books are usually divergent to a certain extent, and it was one of the few I’ve read recently I thought you’d like. Weir also contributed to the “Forward” short story collection, and my husband said his piece was the best out of the group.

Me and my friend started a group at my school and it's kinda the same thing as this. 💫 we meet once a week, each bringing their own book, we eat some homebaked cookies and read- it is my favourite time of the week no doubt 🤍✨📚
i was reading My Policeman! im so glad you recommended this book a while ago. im so in love with the wirting! english is not my first language but i find the writing to be extremely accessible (but absolutely stunning nonetheless) so i'm just racing through it :D
