Having a background in metalworking, I love watching metal workers do projects in wood. We don't abide by the saying, "trim will cover it". We try to make things fit perfectly lol. Great job by the way!
a complete and far reaching bundle i am so excited with what i have in the bundle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL . I could utilize this for quite a while to come. This is the most finish manual i've ever seen i'm very grateful.
I am at the start my cargo trailer camper planning and this entire series is awesome. Thanks for much for posting these videos! I look forward to making cabinets similar to yours with "pocket holes". Simple, lightweight and functional.
Thank you so much for posting! I have been restoring a 1974 Roadrunner Travel Trailer by myself with very limited building experience. TH-cam videos like yours are insurmountably helpful. Thanks again!
A quick cabinet build. That''s what trim is all about...covering up what didn't come out quite right. Looks good , lasts a long time! I have used similar built technics. I built a folding screen using M&T for the corners and that thin Luan plywood. It came out nice and square and straight. I used the hinges that fold either way...2-way or 3-way...can't bring proper name to mind. Keep the good videos coming.
MrFyxr yes those are some neat kind of hinges! And I’ll bet your screen is holding up very nice....mortise and tenon is a real nice touch and super strong too!😀👍
I bought 12 metal bread bins from China. Screwed them to ply shelves. They are ultra light. Swing lids. No empty internal corner space. Allow ceiling to be seen above them giving illusion of space (full ceiling seen). Placed LED string lights top back of bins. All light. Best cupboards. Look like aircraft over lockers. Made 15’ trailer in shape of Airstream Basecamp with full panoramic front black “glass” curved above polished aluminium.
thanks Sergio! yes, is sure made it a lot easier.... a little searching to find a template with the right radius but a little plastic bottle was eventually found that matched the inside curves :)
Man, that pocket hole jig has me drooling. I really need to pick one of those up, seems like it would be useful on so many of the projects we do around here. Trailer is looking great, can't wait to see more of it come together!
Joseph Durkin thanks Joseph! It’s definitely becoming one of the more viewed of the bigger projects. Just so many little faucets to the build....lots of fun though 😀👍
homesteadonomics I don’t know if you noticed, but I changed my channel name from TruckerWarren to what it is now. I’ve learned so much from you and will be applying a lot of the same principles as you. We’re in Douglas BTW. Thanks for all you do on this channel to help us all out.
Open mouthed admiration for your hard work. I am always completely blown away by the meticulous build quality that you undertake. I think you and the family will be having some great trips in 2019. Kindest regards from across the pond.
Ian Moss thanks Ian! I’m reaaaally looking forward to it....haha...it will be something that I believe we are going to start using before it’s completely finished....the bathroom/shower/or whatever area will likely be just an open space or shelves/cubbby storage for a while so we can get to using the trailer. But once the kitchen and front dinette are done I think we are gonna start putting some miles on it😀
I've gotta say Joe, I'm just in awe with your craftsmanship my friend. I can't wait to see you and your family go on that camping trip!! I love camping!!! But you've obviously been on a trip somewhere, or either lounging in a tanning bed, I'm willing to bet it's not the latter...😁😁😁,,, have a Blessed day my friend!!! ~Jay.
Silver Grizzly haha...nope no tanning bed for me....We actually went to San Diego for a little vacation for my daughter to see the ocean....it was really nice!
It just keeps looking more like a camper each time you add something. I can't wait to see the install of the bed and other stuff. Keep up the good work.
Harley McCorcle awesome! Glad you came in at the right time....my internet is really slow and this took over 5 hours to load😬 Hoping the next one will be ready much sooner than this one....had a vacation which slowed everything down quite a bit😉👍
You've done a great job thinking this up and building. I'm confident this will provide years of enjoyable service. Your dog is a bit of a ham alright sneaking into the picture like a movie star. ☺☺
Alan Pinho haha...she is a ham for sure! She was chasing a rabbit I think...she has gotten more rabbits and pack rats that’s I can count on two sets of hands...and mice and lizards too.....but those would be in the few sets of hands range😀 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Sounds good, going to make storage under the bed or use it as a sofa that can be folded down to make a good sized bed? Coffee and reading comments are good thing, get some thoughts and ideas. Side question, how is the rain harvesting going with all the rain hear getting lately? fruit trees really taking off? Haven't shown us the garden area with the little swales and catchment basins.
“Make it look like a real cabinet door”? You gotta be kidding dude, that is a cabinet better built than anything I’ve ever seen in an RV. Hell, the entire build is better quality than anything I’ve personally seen on the rv market.
That's nice!! It's so cool that you are always a few steps ahead of us on the build so watching your travel trailer is like doing "school home work" for us. Hehehehe thanks a lot for sharing!! And we look forward for the bad platform as it will be the first furniture we plan to build on the shipping container!!👌🏼😊
Nice job, nice family time. You do good work, deliberate and thorough. Competition is tough out there but you have my best wishes for you and yours. Looking forward to the adventures to come.
Lol good to see you sticking with your roots with that hat. The trailer is looking great. I can't imagine how much work a project like this. Great job!
SUV RVing thanks Tristan! Yes it’s been a whole ton of work....haha....but hopefully it’ll be worth it when we are doing the ‘tristan trail’ of western state adventuring😉👍
This is an awesome build. You might want to think about locks on the cabinet doors to keep them from opening during rough driving. I have an Air Stream cabinets like yours and you have to twist the knobs for the doors to open. Great Job!!!
Looking great! You are creating something very special and all by yourself, that's something to be extremely proud of. I'm inspired by your work whenever you post a video/update. Looking forward to watching the rest of the build. All the best, thank you for posting!
Your my inspiration sir like me want to start to do caravan Modefide I can get from you something new ideas tq sir your goal will be success I pray for you sir
You're really skilled. Great job and I'm making some shaving brushes for me and our two sons using my drill press as you did in an older video. They are turning out great and thanks for sharing your videos.
Daniel Blahuta thank you Daniel! Bu they aren’t all that good...I make mostly pretty basic things. Nothing too fancy. I just take the big projects and just break them down into small less complex steps😀👍
Im learning so much from this build. Thank you for sharing all the videos. That jig is the bomb! The cabinets look great and will no doubt be used often. Im looking forward to seeing the cooler being set up and the solar array. Im guessing youre ina warmer climate, but I think I would have added more insulation in the ceiling where there was room. Keep up the great work. I too am drooling over all your great tools and work area. I know your family will love and appreciate this camper when done. Your energy level is an inspiration. Happy building .
Looking good sir, looking good. I really like those pocket hinges. I will have to remember that if we ever get around to fixing ours back to camping shape. Or just trading it in for a little bit more space. I'm doing everything in my power to get you to take it on as a remodeling TH-cam project. But I'm sure I'm wasting my breath... lol... I thought you might change your mind if I begged the crap out of you. But I'm not going to do that. But a girls gots to try. Take care & have a wonderful week, Chris from Missouri

You've got to do an update on your rainwater harvesting with all this rain we are getting in AZ. Crazy! All my life here and I could count on one hand the wet months like this I've seen.
SkyroofNova72 oh man....it has been a great month for sure! But my focus has been in this trailer and a little vacation we took...so I got no footage😬 But we have been overflowing for about a month now and it has really hit me to thinking about increasing my capacity again
That could be something to try in the future... but for now I gotta use the simple stuff that I know how to use. But that interlocking joinery definitely sounds cool ! :D
I liked what you did but I didn't have time for that. I found out my local Lowes discounts the cabinets that get damaged which most can be hidden or fixed. And just slapped them up.

Predrilling holes make for less frustration. A paper template for the hole locations is a great aid.

Great build, love the approach of rounding over all the plywood at once, instead of using a chisel to make each of the inserts square !
thanks Sergio! yes, is sure made it a lot easier.... a little searching to find a template with the right radius but a little plastic bottle was eventually found that matched the inside curves :)
Hey, would be awesome if you included a parts list for your builds!

The Hippie Geeks yes it is really useful!! I would put in on a definite buy list at some point!! Very versatile!! 😀

Charl Joubert thanks Charl!
You are a very talented and patient man. I so much enjoy all your work. I like the fact that you keep everything clean and neat
uncledoglips thanks so much UDL! I’m a fan of simple and clean😀👍
From a guy that used to do custom cabinets, that jig is NICE! We had to build our own.
Love to see that taking its final shape.. its really turning to be a great one..

Those cabinets look so nice. I like the color. The upcoming videos are going to be neat to see.
Thanks Jessica! I am still on the fence as for the 'lightness' of the color of the cabinets... but I'm trusting my wife with the whole color scheme ;)
Good idea. Her color schemes always look so nice.
