This is the Cap's review. There are many like it, but this one is the Cap's. This review is the best review. It is my entreteniment. I must master it as I must master my fun.
Great seeing the Mk-3 on the range! I love this blaster for it's versatility alone. Virtually any hobby LiPo, virtually any .50 cal dart type, Picatinny rail, buffer tube Stock, 16 Gauge wire… This thing has a lot going for it.
It's like they've been watching all you professional mod guys and actually taking notes. I'm cant wait to get my hands on one of these. I have the Nexus Pro and the Conquest and I can tell I jumped into the hobby at just the right time. Great stock setups to build upon. What more could you ask for.
The mk3 is the perfect high performance out of the box package, especially for events that require stock blasters. The half darts at high revs are probably getting too little surface area on the flywheels to get higher performance than full lengths.
Seems like the FPS variance between dart length and battery voltage is probably due to wheel slip and duration of contact with the fly wheels, 8v with less slip makes half darts faster by not needing to accelerate as much mass, while 15v with more slip means the long darts get up to a higher speed with the slip, while the half darts are constantly slipping and not picking up as much speed
The very basic mod you can do to the cage is replacing the stock flywheels with Bulldogs. The stock wheels are serrated and so they shred foam and also don't bring up the accuracy as much as most do. The Bulldogs will also mean pure squeeze and improved accuracy without teeth gripping the dart so hard and flinging it off course!
If the 2S gets you down to HVZ fps, could you replace some of the AA’s with dummy cells to drop the voltage and also drop the fps down ? Saves some people going the Lipo route if they don’t want to
@@CaptainXavier Yep, using 6AAs bring the FPS down to ~120s to 130 Likewise, a 2s also brings it down to that level. The motors are very versatile, making do with whatever you power them with!
6:50 Full Auto on long darts I suspect you were running into the Double Feeding issue that shows up when using full lengths in auto mode. Creating a higher than normal, but irregular fire rate. (a longer burst than 5 would give a better indication of this)
I want to get a hold of a DZP MK3, out of the box its very serviceable, and it won't take much to mod it to my preferences. I own a DZP MK1 (#602) and its fun to mess with, just needs the right configuration for when I can find a Nerf war in my area, so the MK3 will be a nice addition, the MK2 would have limited use due to dart capacity and it's profile (even though I tend to use non-realistic colors for paint schemes)
Thankfully, it wasn't just me.... I mean, I'd built a Rapidstrike a few months ago. And in the 1st version, it was more consistent on 2S, than 3S, especially in auto fire. When originally assembled it, I used 43mm clear Worker Cage, which I swapped for a 42mm clear Worker Cage, and bam! Problem solved. I used Krakens and Valk for the pusher with a pwm on the pusher...oh yeah, I used the Worker'Smooths' for my flywheel of choice. After I made the cage swap, I paying the results I originally intended. May be your Market needs more squish.?
While I do appreciate testing the blaster with its stock ammo, I for one would really like to see blasters tested with a “benchmark” ammo. Bamboo darts seem like a really odd choice to me here in particular, would be nice to see how much of a difference waffleheads or sureshot darts make.
@@CaptainXavier I’m not displeased, and I’m sorry I gave that impression. Bamboo darts just strike me as an odd choice for a flywheeler, and it seemed like it did to you too in the video; I wonder how much of a difference a dart with a uniform diameter would make. Maybe a good general topic for another ammo comparison like your Rival comparison, if you’re ever in need of video topics!
I will say: Be careful with ROF mods. The mechanism to switch between semi and full auto is on the fragile side, and while it's fine for stock ROF, it probably needs a replacement for ROF modification.
It does. I put a Kraken in mine immediately when I got it( before drac's video) and all I can say is get a new pusher and the arm that connects it to the trigger.
Given that the DZP line is already in the performance price bracket, I think your SMG idea is doable, as demonstrated by Hasbro, oddly enough. The Prometheus MSRP'd at $200, but I saw was sold in stores for as low as $60 (I never got one and am still salty about it), and shipped with a rechargeable battery. Dart Zone could easily have a battery housing with an XT60 that comes with a form fitted rechargeable battery, and charger, which would then still let us futz around with LiPos. Win-Win
How are feeling? Still recovering from the plague? It was sad that you could not do your event yesterday and I can tell that you can't just do it "next month"
@@CaptainXavier View it as a practice run. If it doesn't work out well, then you know you need to tweak things for next time. And even if it does work out well, you know that there is always more that needs to be done to make it even better
High-performance stock blasters like this are going to significantly lower the barrier to entry into our hobby. Now literally anyone can go to the store and walk out with HvZ-ready gear!
I have a Nerf Recon hack hold the trigger down then pull the slide back all the way then let go of the trigger then the slide stays back then when you pull the trigger the slide shoots up
@@CaptainXavier alright, set myself up for that one. But could it become the new blaster that is like the concept of the Stryfle. Something that is widely available, and can be modded to fit a wide range of scenarios.
So, while it is clearly capable of doing everything a Stryfe can do and more, it is also 6 times the cost of a Stryfe even before you start modifying and upgrading it.
Oh... jeez... is that what mine is hitting with a 3S lipo? I've been using the one Drac found. I've been going off the results of the first 3 or 4 reviews.
Why alkalines😢. I used alkalines a few times and switched to nimh better in every single aspect. Leaking and bateries only lasting for 2 days like what? Manufacturers should recommend nimh on their products than alkaline nawadays.

The feeding issue with talons only happens when firing multiple darts in a row…
I fired three in a row...no issues...
Try it in full auto. Great channel by the way. The best Nerf content in my opinion.
@@CaptainXavier It's possible that it requires certain darts along with a certain battery, there by creating the perfect storm for it to jam

Great review Captain - all my questions answered except if it will take my RIVAL Grenade Launcher as a master key.
Does said grenade launcher attach using picattinny rail?
@@CaptainXavierperhaps but only if picattinny rail is one side or the other underbarrel one lacks room to prime Astrea v1, V2, or v3

I saw on Reddit that someone made a MK3 master key like on the stryfel but with the MK3 shell

Excellent review as always, Captain. I really want to pick up a mk3 at some point, but I'm a bit broke and focusing on lego at the moment.
