*I have an Arai Classic V. I bought it sight-unseen and it fits PERFECTLY. No uneven pressure to any part of my head.* It also has a venting system that is so effective the helmet has yet to smell like my head. It's worth the US$450 it cost me.
The only finicky thing I find about the helmet, and you touched on in briefly, is the opening mechanism for the visor. On the previous version, it could reeeeeally be tough to open the visor while wearing the helmet, until you get used to it, compared to other Aria helmets I've had in the past. (Tip: pull the visor tab a little out and way from helmet itself, and then push up to open, instead of just pushing the visor straight up.)
this was my top of the list until i tried opening the visor. it was difficult to open with bare fingers and i can't imagine doing it with gloves. perhaps ill give it another try. i trust arai's safety standards.
@@hiroshiii6031 The Quantic took two years. I don't understand Arai's product rollout formula with all the competing names/release dates, but there's clearly more to it than just "ship whatever we can wherever we can." If you go to a shop in Japan, there's a little chart of which helmet is called what, where. This helmet doesn't have a US equivalent, nor does the Vector-X/Chaser-X. Going the other way, the US has an exclusive on the Signet-X.
I have the Japanese version of this (the Rapide Neo). I had it fitted to my head, so it is definitely comfortable. It's loud as shit though. I have to wear earplugs, even at city speeds, because the VAS shield whistles if you ride with it fully open. Saw a similar comment on a Quantic review, so I guess it's not just a Rapide thing. It goes away if you put your hand on your head - must be an interaction with the R75 shape. You could probably put horns or a mohawk or whatever other kind of sticker on there to kill the noise, but I don't know that those sort of accessories are safe in a crash. I haven't had much time with it at highway speeds, but it's particularly loud there too, even with my -25dB plugs in. Makes me wonder if I should get a different helmet for bigger trips and just use this one in-town. I haven't gotten the hang of the visor latch, although I only close the visor if it's wet or cold outside, so maybe I need more practice. 🤷♂ For me, this replaced my AGV K3 SV. At first, I thought the fabric in the AGV was way more comfortable (silky vs scratchy). Surprised me that a $200 helmet would have a nicer interior than a premium one, but the Rapide grew on me over time and I'm happy with the comfort now.
That's a weird one, I pretty much always ride with earplugs and I find this helmet is very quiet and stable at speed. I do notice a bit of a whistle with my head turned at some angles when the visor is open but I've had similar with pretty much every helmet I've had.
I know this is a year old but had to say the black catch to open the visor is trash, broke on my first trip, even tho I was following the instructions.
The one I have has thumbscrews with a big coin slot. It is a bit more work than the quickrelease on my AGV, but it's not awful. You don't need tools or anything.
@@UrbanRiderlondon can you point to in the right direction. I had a look at the website, and Arai concept-xe vas v visor says it's "Genuine replacement visor to fit the Arai Rapide and Concept-XE Helmets." Rapide is the last generation yes?

Was in your store earlier and fell in love instantly with this helmet… I’ll be back! Lol
Great to hear!

it's the same on the SIGNET-X.............was really a struggle at times until I figured it out

Love the style, just wish it had a vent up top to give the head some fresh air.
The brow vents in the visor do the same job
@@mancavemoto yup realized as I finished watching the video lol
Very nice helmet! Thx for the video 🤘
Glad you like it!
Wish they sold this helmet in the US. Been looking at just purchasing internationally and getting it shipped.
You can order one overseas and then have it shipped over. That's what I did anyhow. Was a low effort, easy affair.
It should come. Dot isnt that hard to meet so it should come within the year

Hi! We do ship Internationally - Iza
I love the Video and already rocking the Arai Concept XE.
But could you let me know the amazing jacket 0:32 you can see here?
Love my Rapide! (which came from Urban Rider)
Nice!

Have the X version, absolutely hate the visor mechanism. Now it's my first Arai but after a year, I cannot get used to it and it reaaally bugs me.
Great on depth review... Question.. how loud is it on motorway?
Thank you
Hi, it's pretty good on a motorway!
I know this is a year old but had to say the black catch to open the visor is trash, broke on my first trip, even tho I was following the instructions.
How is the fit compared to an Arai XD-4? There would be no way for me to test fit this before ordering overseas.
How is this helmet for colder weather? My Shoei RF-1200 vents a little too well in cooler weather.
Great video. THX. also great jacket but I couldn't find it on UR page
The blue is quite nice, but that visor change mechanism is a deal breaker for me.

How Arai SZ-R Evo differ from Sz-r vas
Which shield you have on ? Looks very cool
Hi, it's the Dark Tint one: www.urbanrider.co.uk/arai-concept-xe-vas-v-visor-dark-tint.html - Iza
Shell size is a big thing for me. Disappointed its larger
Same that was very noticeable
How is it with the wind noise ?
probably the same as before (X)
What head shape does this fit on? Intermediate/Round Oval?
Hi Francisco, It's a very universal fit and fits most head shapes, it's all down to a personal fit etc. - Iza
hello. Is the helmet quiet or loud?
Hi, it's more on the quieter side! - Iza
@@UrbanRiderlondon thank you 👍
Hey guys does the visor from last gen compatible with this?
Hi! I'm afraid not. - Iza

1600g is really heavy, though.
