Good informative episode! My Watertown Northern Model Railway has one of the Florida East Coast "Ugly Ducklings" BL-2 by Life-Like upgraded to DCC & Sound by my good friend Larry Eggering.
Great post, how very interesting! There seems to be a great many folks who subscribe to the mistaken notion that C&O came to possess 14 BL2's, when in fact the number is 15. Pere Marquette took delivery of 6, numbered 80-85. C&O took delivery of 9 more, numbered 1839-1847, bringing the total for C&O to 15, not 14 as is mistakenly repeated due to some error in reporting in probably an issue of Trains Magazine originally. All 15 operated exclusively in Michigan, until two were temporarily assigned to Kentucky, later returned to Michigan service.
