  • Title: Waiakeakua Falls Via Pu' u' Pia Trail | Waterfall Hike in Oahu, Hawaii | Dean Family Travels
    Description:
Everyone knows the more popular waterfall hikes on Oahu. Manoa Falls, Waimea Falls, and maybe even Lulumahu Falls. However, during the more rainy season on Oahu there are so many more waterfalls just waiting to be rediscovered!
Waiakeakua Waterfall is about 3 miles round trip and is best to visit during the rainy season on Oahu (between November and March). There are at least seven Waterfalls you will see along the trail including one three tiered waterfall (check it out in the video).
The hike ends at the 60 ft Waiakeakua waterfall although you can climb to the top of the waterfall and even follow the ridge all the way up to the summit and even on to Mt. Olympus.
If you do decide to go to the top of the waterfall, there was no rope to climb to the top as there once was. My suggestion would be to go up the left side of the waterfall by back pacing about 20 yards back down the trail and then you will see a path heading up the ridge. It is a little difficult to get up but is way easier than trying to traverse the right side.
Good luck, be safe, and please let me know if the comments what you think or if you have any questions!

If a 40 foot waterfall is classified as small then yes! With that being said it’s definitely one of my favorite waterfall hikes on Oahu. Not very many people know about it so it’s more secluded and there are so many beautiful ‘small’ waterfalls along the way.
Just be sure to go during the rainy season when the water is flowing.
