OOOHHHHH That pint glass is almost as sexy as that boxed edition of Roguecraft! Ha ha! Glad you are enjoying it and thanks for all your support. Can't wait to get my boxed edition of Roguecraft too!
Ok that looks decent! I'll order it. I think it would play well on my Steam Deck (turn based is good when I'm on the train). I'll have to get an emulator up and running on it.
@@RobFisherUK I think this will be fantastic on a handheld unit like that! the steam deck seems like such a good device for this kind of use. I drive myself, so I am either at work, at home with my computers or driving car in my daily schedule. So I have managed to keep myself strong and don't buy one! hehe I kinda considered supporting it just because it was using linux though. To get some a +1 user behind it. But I ended up just using steam on my desktop computer rather. "Drinking beer and playing a brand new amiga game on the train" sounds like a good idea for a video!
What a pleasant and good play through of the game. A great teaser trailer for what looks like a really interesting and fun game. Keep up the great work you're doing.
Yes it is very nice this game. And very enjoyable to play. Chill and cozy. it did take it´s time to load from floppy, but I suspect it has a cruncher in front to be able to fit so much data on the disk. So absolutely no complains from me. It is very fast from whdload though (and I am glad they also included that version).
The graphics are fantastic, incredible detail and animation. The attention to detail in all aspects, even the screen fade out depends on the direction you exit. And for a turn based game it is fast and fun to play.
Pretty badass. I am thinking to maybe get a second Mister clone and to put it in a Checkmate pizza box case like yours. Cool game, cheers my dude. Appreciate you playing a game for this one since I know you're more of an art and demoscene guy.
Cheers mate! Mister is such a great setup for Amiga, and in the checkmate it looks stunning as well. I have mine in an A500 case with custom made breakoutboard for it. Sadly my DE10 Nano managed to get a hardware problem (instant rebooting when it does disk activity, no amount of SDcardchanges, SSDs through USB, PSU-replacement, RAM-checks etc was able to figure out what it is) so I had to give it up. It is in my plans to get one of those replacements for the DE10 Nano which costs a bit less! Let me know how your plan comes to life! If you want to send me a picture of your setup when you have it I have my email available at my channel page here on youtube!
@@proteque I looked into the Checkmate cases and they only have the black ones available which is ehhh looking since those look like some kind of okay Dell Optiplex. I am trying to find some kind of pizzabox style ATX case that would fit a mini ITX case and a Mister.
@@proteque only issue I found is that they only have the Checkmate case in black which I don't want. Gonna have to find another pizzabox style case to fit the Mister and an ITX computer.
@@samuelbanya I think it will restock after he gets his monitors out in the wild. So could be worth to check again in half a year if you are unable to find something you like.
I was thinking it must be procedurally generated, being on 1 floppy, but then I realized that it's called Roguecraft so of course it is. Roguecraft = Roguelike
Hope the translation got this right! From what I understand you had a play through with the warrior? Grats! how much harder are the other players? I havn't tested them yet.
Yes. The music and graphics set up a very nice atmosphere. And another thing I noticed now that I have played it more is that it keeps changing. So the rounds don't look the same each time.
Cheers. It is the lovely checkmate case. So a remake inspired by the A3000 case. Can get it with various backplanes to mount A1200,A500 and even ATX for emulation or AROS usage. Great case.
Game looks and sounds great. Not a genre I've really played before. Had come across Roguecraft before but assumed (wrongly) it was an AGA game, looking forward to playing on my A500!
Beautiful game. I like that it's basically turn-based but plays almost like Zelda if you want, you can go as fast as you like or play chess with the enemies in each room.
It runs smooth as butter, looks stunning and sounds stunning! So absolutely. I must say I really enjoyed the work that was put into the big box release! That glossy nice artwork, the big poster, stickers etc etc. Gives me the same (or even more so) joy that a good vinyl release gives me!
It came with a sticker and an ADF file on the CD. I wrote the adf to a floppy myself. As you can see in the start I added the provided sticker. It is very hard to get reliable floppies for distribution. I guess that is why almost everyone does it this way nowdays.
@@proteque Nice idea, good job I have many of those 3.5" disks still as spares. The game looks very nice indeed, I played Rogue64 which I think is the same game idea, but different graphics and so on. I see it's sold out though, I wonder how many copies it sold, seems like this retro market tends to do quite well with collectors and fans of the original machines.
just amazing. I can hear some sounds from Shadow of the Beast! What emulator should I use?? Because the emulator recommended on the game's website is offline.
I have a capturecard that records it. And then I sync up manually in final cut afterwards the soundrecording, mic recording, display recording and camera. So it is a bit of work. Could be done as a stream as OBS can show both my camera and my capture card, but I did not do it that way.
The only thing I don't like about this game is the slow screen redraw when you enter a new room. I probably wouldn't be bothered if it came out back in the day, but we expect everything to be instant now!

the last time I got an Amiga Big Box game must have been in the mid 90's - though that's so long ago, I can't even remember what that might have been

I have a capturecard that records it. And then I sync up manually in final cut afterwards the soundrecording, mic recording, display recording and camera. So it is a bit of work. Could be done as a stream as OBS can show both my camera and my capture card, but I did not do it that way.
