Amazing game! These are two masters who can calculate precisely even in a rapid game! Praggu's ability to do so at his young age is just astounding. Chess coaches should use this game to teach youngsters how to accurately play an endgame!
Ding showing why he deserves to be in the candidates and Pragg showing he belongs at the elite level 🙂 . The formation of bishop , knight and rook against queen is useful to know . Maybe call it the "Agadmator phalanx" 🤔 . But if you have a queen against rook , bishop and knight in a blitz game and low on time , eliminate the rook . Chances are the opponent wouldn't know how to mate with bishop and knight . he may need to watch the Agadmator video on that . 🙂
@@lolvideos1712 Of course! Rama Chandra was saying this could be a good tactic against a lower rated player who won't know the technique (which I don't either), and he's probably right! 😅
I think anyone other player would've lost this endgame against Pragg, except, maybe Magnus. I wasn't expecting Ding could still draw the game, again he proves why he belongs up there. This was such a battle
How cow!!! That was so tense and such a battle. I was captivated watching the three piece battle v queen. Could the engine w three pieces beat the queen? Love these Asymmetrical sacrificing games

6:31 Instead of Qc3, which is a fine move, you can start pushing immediately with b6 and if Nc5 creating a blocade you shatter black's hopes with Qxc5! Rxc5 b7 and the pawn promotes.
Antonio: When commenting on moves, you often speak of what "the engine" recommends. I think it would be great if you devoted an episode to your thoughts about chess engines. What engine do you use? Do you run all the games that you discuss through an engine analysis before deciding on your presentation (what to emphasize, which move to select for your "pause the video" moment, etc)
if you watch some of his old videos..a few years ago he used to mention the type of engine he uses and the normal depth he uses with the engines..Sometimes mentioning how he had left the engine to go to deeper depths through the night...i think videos made around the period he made alpha zero videos
After 70 . . . Rxa5, the endgame tablebase shows this as a draw through all moves for the rest of the game. (Now I see that someone already commented that the commentators were tracking this during the game, too.)
I think this just a long drawn out Saga, i hope one day to see pragg vs carlsen in the world championships. Personally I think they're two best in the world
the final as awesome .. the most amazing thing is that both were playing after midnight in case of Ding he literally saw the sun of the next day playing chess
My favorite fighting game in years. Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter Five, and Nick All-Star Brawl have nothing on this game. But seriously, I love your vids, agadmator :)
Hi Agad, We wanted to know that if this endgame position is winnable for either side or was it a complete drawn game. It was such a complicated endgame.
How did Ding hold this? I thought a queen against a rook, bishop and knight should be losing (though I understand it's also difficult to force the win because white can find so many ways to keep checking).
Maybe with pawns on the board, but on open board like this it is extremely hard to block against checks and to also create mating net. One wrong move and queen will fork your King and piece and then you could even lose. It's too much calculation and requires perfect play and a mistake from the opponent also since engines confirm it is a draw with perfect play
This Game is Funny just earlier today I watched one of your videos with Magnus playing blitz I believe and there was a 50 moves maximum rule im not exactly sure to be precise how that rule goes but here it is a Game with 100+ moves I guess it being classical different rules apply
What an end game to fight for and not lose.. Talk of tenacity and focus... Mind boggling rapid game... What spunk to allow such end games to occur and fight for. Chess wins !!
analysed Qd4 with the engine for like 10 minutes and still don’t understand how one can find that move - I guess the point is to prevent the knight from helping block the passers + discoordinating black’s pieces.
Seems like the longest game ever even though it is not. I can't imagine the pressure of the position and the clock as the players danced around on the brink of victory or defeat. Thank you.
I like Both these players I’m glad there are so many really Great players I know Magnus is at the top but these other players are Awesome have to appreciate their Skill
With pawns it's probably a win for 3 minor pieces since the King can hide behind pawns and use those pawns to promote while also using those 3 pieces to gang up and win the opponents pawns. But in a pawnless open position like fhis the queen is too powerful and can check nonstop and generate too many fork threats if black pushes too much to attack white King instead of defending his own king from checks(and/or vice versa, aka using his King to defend his pieces and make sure he doesn't get forked and lose a piece).
Clearly it's dings ability to hold and praggs ability to turn the match to his favor is what makes both player super grandmasters that being said pragg is my favorite player dings being my second favorite pragg has a chance of becoming a future champion 11:4811:50
I would definitely choose to play as White in this endgame. It's hard not to make blunder as Black and I can always check with my a queen to have time increment.
Black already had a defensive "fortress" setup before all the pawns were off, as in all pieces defend each other, so really only black could win. White was just playing for draw at that point. Im guessing many people would also choose to have the black pieces.. Especially when there were still pawns on the board. Ding did very well to get all pawns off the board and to draw this game in the end. I've had many games like this where I also thought I can keep checking forever but then after one check I find that I have no more and I am now getting my King pushed into a corner I don't want it to be in and then soon after that I am suddenly in a lost position and have to to give up my queen or be mated lol
@@ex0duzz Good point. Your choice would probably be more suitable for a high-rated player. I suppose a low-rated player may want to play for a draw in this type of endgame.
I think ding is more awesome in this. Because queen againts rook and 2 piece are actually lost. He find the only "draw" position by removing all of pragg pawn.
This was by far the best game and defense by Praggu, putting piece on a fortress 🛡 against Ding is not some defeat. But wow, what a game by both players.
