Same thing happened with John Barnes.
When he lost his pace, Liverpool converted him to a left sided midfielder, to create for the wide men like McManaman.
It suited Barnes down to the ground, but the game was much slower back then.
I’m just not sure if it would suit Salah being central, and I would prefer Mac Allister in that position.
If Salah does convert to a more creative central role, then who is playing right wing because we definitely need a skilful right winger with pace, and if Diaz leaves which looks very likely, we would need both a left and a right winger.
There is talk of this Summerville kid from Leeds coming in, so if that’s the case they are definitely not moving Darwin out of the striker position.
I don’t think they sell Darwin full stop, just because no other club will pay the same amount we paid for him. The club won’t throw away millions just because our fans are unhappy. They will give him a chance.
Having said that he has 12 months to prove himself to be good enough, otherwise his Liverpool career will be over imo.

Drift is right about Salah fizzling out towards the end. However I don't think it's on Mo. It's actually on the team. Look at the amount of minutes he plays plus throw in international tournaments. Conversely look at KDB the last two years. Last season he didn't play too much in the first half and he was unleashed in the second half. This season he was injured and now he's back he's helping the team. This team leans too much on Salah's GA for the whole season.

Reflecting on Klopp's era evokes a bittersweet feeling, not solely because of its success, but because of the colossal unfulfilled potential. The cracks in the system and the gradual decline were glaringly obvious, impossible to ignore. While skepticism about FSG as owners lingered from the start, time only validated those doubts. However, my perspective shifted towards Klopp's management from the 2020-21 season onwards. It began to resemble the Benitez era, marked by an overbearing sense of authority. Klopp's growing arrogance and unwillingness to heed advice led to the abrupt end of his 20-year friendship with Zelko Buvac (the brain) and the exodus of key personnel from Michael Edwards' team. This erosion of talent severely impacted the team's performance and tarnished Klopp's legacy. Despite unwavering support from FSG, it was clear they were too afraid to say no to him, knowing full well how much the LFC fans love him. If Klopp even hinted that FSG weren't listening to him, fans would have driven FSG across the pond for good. Klopp seemed reluctant to request essential reinforcements for key positions. The over-reliance on a handful of players such as VVD, AR, MS, TAA, Fabinho, and Henderson was glaring, especially given Klopp's demanding style of play. The lack of depth on the bench was not just evident; it was alarming. It's confounding why Klopp failed to address this issue. It seemed as though he had forgotten his role as the manager of Liverpool FC, instead focusing on his sway over FSG. This shift in power dynamics led to a situation where accountability became elusive, akin to the behavior of dictators.

It seems like we're mad that we're not scoring 4 or 5 to win games. even when you look at our midfield options, we only have one defensive minded midfielder. We invert with left and Rb and leave 2 cbs by themselves with a highline. I understand the tactic of what we were doing at the start of the season in terms of attracting teams onto us to hit them on the counter but did not adjust tactic at the business end of the season and other teams cottoned on to what we were doing, adding in the fact that the players are tired emotionally and physically and players are in bad form at the wrong time

Barca want Nunez?!$ I find the talk about him quite frustrating. I'm one that wanted us to sign from jump (and ISAK was a choice as well). But if we talk about just Darwin without full appreciating that our offensive schemes r so basic, quite poor actually, then we're missing a bigger issue. Even Isak, who I believe is a more polished striker, wouldn't look as good in our side guys. I have not enjoyed watching my team attacking opponents AT ALL. (same as the refereeing I've witnessed). It's been excruciatingly hard work to unlock defenses & all these last minute winning goals we've had to pull out. When u see our players actually running out of ideas on how to get the ball into the net then it's POOR.
No question we need CB signings, I like Andersen. I actually think he's got a level he can go up to if he's afforded chance to be around better players, play a better football scheme. I think we need to effing find that DM who's him for our midfield. And if someone where to say Neto would be superhuman from now on, then I'd take him. I think he makes an ideal RW to partner Nunez.

My fans with loeste klowledge like Liverpool is imposible to find. 90% of LFC fans believe they know football but dont. And spread the bullshit everywhere. Nunez, Diaz and Trent are the most valuable players from our team for a reason. Experts make these prices. Liverpool fans want Diaz and Nunez to leave. And many want also Trent to leave. You cannot argue with LFC fans. Because is imposible to argue with stupidity.

Keep Nunez....deserves one more season - I know Slot has techniques to help players improve individual attributes like he did with his CB taking up kickboxing to improve aggression. Nunez once he hones the finishing - just needs serious work; bring in a Taffarel-style South American spanish-speaking former cultured striker as a coach. I'd have loved Forlan. Zamorano, Salas, Crespo, Batistuta, Falcao tbh none of them will be available. If we can't get a former LFC hitman then let Slot call on his Dutch contacts and bring in a former prolific Dutch striker.

Newcastle United: 112 big chances created in the league. Isak 14 goals from open play in the league. Isak has 23 starts and has played 1,949 minutes, that’s 21 games worth of minutes. Isak has 15 big chances missed.
Liverpool: 115 big chances created in the league. Nunez 11 goals from open play in the league. Nunez has 22 starts and has played 1,997 minutes, that’s 22 games worth of minutes. Nunez has 26 big chances missed.
And this is coming from someone who wants Darwin gone because I don’t think he’s good enough.
One gets scrutinized by everyone and their grandmother for every single small and big mistake he has made since before he even landed in England.
The other gets to do all the mistakes he wants and no one apart from his own fanbase really criticizes him.
Imagine if Isak went to arsenal in the 2023 January window for 100m and he didn’t really hit the heights they were expecting of him. Do you think that rivals wouldn’t really criticize every mistake of his to the empt degree? Just look at what arsenal fans are saying about Jesus. When they signed him, he was the 2nd best ST in the league after Haaland. Now they want him gone and it’s not just about he’s injuries as well.

This ignores a lot of context which i will now provide:
Isak - 14 non penalty goals from 13.3 non pen xG. He is scoring more than he should according to xG. He also has a conversion rate of 28.8% meaning he scores 1 in every 3 shots he takes.
Nunez - 11 non penalty goals from 14.9 non pen xG. He has nearly 4 fewer goals than he should have according to xG. That is a massive underperformance. His conversion rate is 10.5% so he scores 1 in every 9 shots he takes.
For context, the only players in the league with a higher xG underperformance than Nunez are Calvert Lewin (scoring 5.5 goals less) and Nicholas Jackson (Scoring 4.8 less than he should).
That is why Isak has such a reputation. Because the numbers show he's far more lethal than Nunez. He's one of the most efficient finishers in the league
