I lived in this lovely town back in 1968-69 on a Pan American Society of New England Scholarship. I studied Mexican Literature and silver jewelry making. There were so many art opportunities at the Instituto Allende; it was wonderful!. I was a Spanish major in college and later, taught it at the high school level. I enjoyed my stay in San Miguel tremendously and hope that I may return. More recently, I lived and taught in Monterrey, in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I loved that city, too!
I went to San Miguel de Allende yesterday, it's a breath-thaking place, I felt like I was lost in time walking around the cobbled streets, beautiful and enormous houses, colonial constructions everywhere, squares, churches and people from all over the world... It's estimated that 20% of the population of the town is foregin. The Rosewood hotel is magestic it cost $4000 USD/night (the main suite.)
Osmin Cruz You are talking shit.Mexico prefer the peoples talking good about Mexico than the fucking money.Mexico take too many poors Central Americans and peoples around the Globe.Mexico is a friendly place from colonial times, when the 13 colonies were very poors and Mexico was the richest place around the Globe by the Gold and Silver.
Qe lastima ..!
What a lot of bull, the "secret". Do you really have to go deep to see what's the real secret? It's in front of your eyes: the place is magically beautiful, it was bound to be discovered sooner or later by the masses.
Amor del corazón y folklore... Bello San Miguel de Allende, hogar de mis Abuelos.
