Took my kids to knobles yesterday. First time at a theme park. Their first roller coaster was Impulse. 2 out 3 of my kids passed out LOL. They begged to go on it, by the time the ride stopped all three were crying. But they LOVED the wooden coasters!
My 4 year old niece went on Bubbles the Dragon at Storybook Land as her first coaster. But she's an adrenaline junkie like me so I'm slowly getting her on more rides as she gets tall enough to for on them.
I love this! My first big coaster is right next door - Gemini. It was probably around 1982 (before Magnum), and I think I had that same look on the first drop. This is an awesome dad-son memory to enjoy for life. Thanks for sharing.
I remember the first time I rode on a roller coaster. I was totally unprepared for the first drop. I had no idea what it was going to feel like. I wasn't that much older than that little boy! I did the same thing, close my eyes! I feel ya! By the way, he's a brave little boy.

Told him screaming helps the stomach drop feeling. Once he tried it, he loved it but is still more apprehensive about the bigger coasters. I was 10 before i was forced on a coaster and 20 something before i actually liked them. These kids are brave!
But, screaming doesn’t help the drop feeling. I guess it’s the only thing you can do. I’m an adrenaline junkie btw and actually just rode the slingshot with my hands up the whole time at Cedar Point.

My first was the hulk. Definitely a good coaster it’s like jumping off a cliff with no parachute but then you land in a pile of pillows and realize how fun it is

I started riding them when I was 5 (I was a tall 5 year old), and I never really found roller coasters scary to me. To me, they were just pure fun. I think that seeing them as scary is more of a psychological thing than them actually being scary. Then again, this kid was at Cedar Point, so I guess that the roller coasters could be more intimidating.
@@uriiahhhh thanks I have been on it and it was really fun. It is called rampage at alabama splash adventure. You you should look it up on youtube. A 102 foot drop and it goes 56 miles per hour. I know slower than most people ride but it was my first roller coaster and IT WAS SO FUN!

My first ever coaster was el loco at circus circus Las Vegas, to this day, that was one of the best decisions I took in my life, I went on it when I was 10 now I’m 14 and will do anything to get on more coasters. Edit: it was canyon blaster I went on, not el loco. But I’m going back for the third time in a week
That pretty much the same way with me, I rode Railblazer at California’s great America once and I’ve never looked back since, now I’ve ridden over 50 all across California
