This was a wonderful show. They were a great pair. Good people make good shows. Simple interview at a local tv station before cable era.

I big am big fan of BB and KJ before the show started.Amanda King and Lee Stetson are the most adorable couples on TV ever..BB and KJ had such good chemistry between them that makes those characters (SMK) soo real...

I agree. And you see their chemistry here already and it explodes by season 2. Think about that interview they do together in early 1985 where they hold hands and keep touching each by other nonstop. So I have a theory about them…
Hear me out.
Salzburg, 1984. Kate was about to divorce and heartbroken. Bruce’s marriage was in its 7th year and on the rocks. He had a 4 yr old which is, according to my experience, always the most difficult age for their parents, especially when sb needed to stay home and the other one is making a big career. Happens to everyday Joe and his wife too.
So, both are lonely in Salzburg. One is utterly heartbroken, the other one defeated about the state of his marriage. And they got time on their Hands. Lots of time. And no place to go. No scheduled meetings at school or CBS or paying bills or attending production meetings. Just hanging out in beautiful Germany over the summer. They had chemistry from day one but I think that very summer was THEIR summer. They had a fling because they were lonely and liked each other a lot. And probably Kitty and Bruce were on a break at that point. It was probably not even cheating. It was rebound, on both ends. And they knew, that with return to the US, it needed to end. That was in August of 1984. And the Bruce got back to Kitty because Kate made him realize how he needed to fight for his marriage. She encouraged him to go back. And Kitty finally heard him. Bruce got Kitty pregnant around Jan/Feb of 1985, maybe the classic “let’s try it again and to make up, let us have another baby” theme. So they went. And Kate and him were just friends again, in good terms, because the fling was gone, they got that out of their system, but the chemistry was still there.
But then Kate got sick. And got gaslit from her producer to not tell anyone. Not because she wanted to, but was told, the show will be be shut down if CBS knew, her billing Star was potentially deadly ill. So she was threatened and gaslit and told that it is her fault if everyone will lose their job. So she obeyed. Told no one. Not even Bruce, her friend.
And time went on and the producers told lies about her being off screen. He knew sth was up, but she didn’t talk to him. Was too scared. And Bruce drew the wrong conclusion from it. So they relationship got sour and when the show ended, his marriage had failed anyway, even after that make up kiddo and Kate was busy getting healthy again, so it fizzled out.
He gave some really bitter interviews after SMK ended, about her having her way (because she shut him out, so he was hurt and he fueled the “she is hard to work with” narrative), them losing their chemistry during S4 and him losing his marriage because of the shows working hour. And she never replied anywhere. I think it hurt her terribly to hear him say that, so she decided to not get in touch after he was divorced and she was cured.
I don’t think it was the fling that ended that made them go separate ways. I truly think that Kate was pressured by the studio to keep her mouth shut and marching on, suffering all by herself. I mean, it was the 80s, patriarchy in full blown swing and the men in Hollywood dictated everything. I am sure she never Got over this mistreat and felt terrible after S4. And Bruce, at that point, haven’t understood a thing and thought she mistreated HIM, because … men.
Him telling the story that Kate rang him by up around 2009/2011 and him confirming they are on good terms, seems to me that after all these years, she decided to put the record straight. And he was apologizing for being a jerk in 1987’s interviews and also, being a man, not understanding what was really going on and reaching out earlier.
TLDR: I think they truly loved each other, but as friends and for one summer, they got their sexual energy out of their system, but it was not the reason for their friendship to get sour.
They are both so hot here. Fabulous onscreen chemistry.

I'm 57, and I still get "that reaction" just by looking at Kate Jackson. I don't think there's ever been a sexier, tomboy, classy, smart, perfectly stunning woman in media period!

I loved this show back in the 80's! I didn't realize that this Kate Jackson from Scarecrow and Mrs. King was Sabrina on Charlie's Angels because her hair changed her whole look. Plus I was just a teen. Lol. She looked so plain to me on Charlie's Angels compared to the other girls with her short straight hair but on Scarecrow she was so Beautiful to me with this new look!
Well, I saw Kate Jackson for the first time on Charlie's Angels and loooved the show. Especially because of Kate playing the beautiful and playful Sabrina Duncan! Sabrina looked anything but plain!! While Kate really looks stunning in this interview here I never liked the 80s hairstyle and fashion in general. So I never warmed to her hairstyle on "Scarecrow and Mrs. King". Not her fault, it was just that decade. But as you said it changed her whole look. And that's the difficult part for me. Because I did watch some of SMK (and Kate was great in it) and yet I dearly missed cool and attractive Sabrina Duncan in her 70s jeans and t-shirts or blouses.
Lots of men and women have this obsession with long hair in a woman. I disagree. Kate didn't have short hair in Charlie's Angels. She never had. She had the most beautiful shoulder length, shiny hair! That look was very sexy, cool and playful. To me Sabrina Duncan/Kate Jackson was the most gorgeous woman among them (of course all looked awesome). She never got boring and was so unique and fun and btw the best actress by far. And it showed!
Ms. Jackson always looked stunning. But to me she was at the height of her beauty on Charlie's Angels. She didn't have to show off her body but had that sex appeal.
@@19CALI_sunnyv , the 80s had many different hairstyles and looks. If you don't like Kate's hairstyle and looks that has nothing to do with the decade. The 70s also have hairstyles and fashion that does not look good, but it's not about the decade .
@@renealexander2703 Sure there are different hair styles in each decade. But there were tendencies that were typical for the 70s and 80s. Some people love the 80s for its fashion and hair. Others prefer the 70s and that's me. They certainly were two very different decades and it showed in TV shows like "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" and "Charlie's Angels". While I love everything Kate Jackson, and Amanda King was a great and beautiful character, Sabrina Duncan will always be my favorite. Her personality and her cool and gorgeous 70s style.
@@19CALI_sunnyv , nothing wrong with Sabrina being your favorite. My point was that there are good and bad in each decade. I don't have a preference for a decade because everyone did not look the same. It's not about the decade.

he looked so young and his age at the beginning of the show but season 3 he seemed suddenly so old... sad..
He mentioned the 12-14 hour days at least 5 days per week were really hard on an actor. They both were looking pretty tired/older toward the end. It's a marathon not everyone can run.
He had more kids.
Same thing on The Bionic Woman. Lyndsay Wagner looked tired very soon after the show started. Back in those days, they crank out alot of episodes per season unlike now.

That's television blocking, not romance. Look at the closeness of the host's legs and Kate Jackson's. Look at the lack of space between any two heterosexual male characters in any close up. Blocking - not sexual tension.
Their chemistry reads as sexual tension and I suppose only Bruce/Kate can address that issue. You can put two people in close proximity and not get that kind of body language. The leaning into one another, the comfort level exhibited relatively early on in their relationship, and the unified front all indicate their chemistry was very real. In other interviews, much further into the series, this closeness remained the same. Having met Bruce, and seeing him around women, this is not his normal demeanor even when seated right beside them. Something worked between them and resulted in 4 years of a very good show.

Both nice people talking about presenting themselves to be loved by the customers..
Now we get actors attacking the customers for not following the actors extreme beliefs and then they attack the customers for not watching their shows..
I don't watch a show for a rich actor to claim I'm racist for how I vote or evil becsue of my skin color but actors these days don't seem to care... They get paid enough even if they attack half the audience..
They are there to promote "Scarecrow and Mrs. King," and if I didn't know what the show was about before looking at the interview, I certainly wouldn't know after seeing this. What a bunch of irrelevant questions.

They were both very thin. I think they both had an issue. Its more noticeable in Charlie's Angels, theres times where she looks skeletal. Thankfully, she managed her problem and she looks much better at this period in her life.
The world lost a gift from God when we lost Karen and her beautiful voice. She was so hurt by the way her mother treated her. Such a shame. Two beautiful ladies.
@@lorimiller4301 Karen Carpenter and Kate Jackson can not be compared. Kate didn't have an issue. Someone who grew up down the street from Kate in Mountain Brook, Alabama, said Kate was always very nice. And if you wonder where she got her exotic but attractive features, you would not need to look any further than her mother. Kate is a much taller version of her late mother. Her father was a tall and slender man.
She lost some weight while working on Charlie's Angels since it was super stressful. There's the Mike Douglas interview she did during lunch hour. She came from a scene where she was tied up and eating a sandwich. Then there was the interview and again no time to eat. Right after that it was back to do the next scene. Also they were to stay thin. After she left the show she gained some weight.
She was a stunningly beautiful Angel. Loved everything about her.

Kate was VERY close to Farrah and Jaclyn. They were best friends. Kate and Jaclyn are to this day!
Kate tried to see Farrah near the end but Ryan O'Neal wouldn't let her go in to see Farrah as she was dying. That wasn't right but the dying sometimes don't want to see anyone. My mom was like that but I don't think Farrah was. She showed the world what was happening to her. Kate should've been allowed to say goodbye.
One of Jaclyn’s kids got married a few years ago and Kate was photographed at the wedding.
