    So glad Larry Allen was fortunate to have John Madden commentating that game vs the Colts...here is Joe Buck’s analysis: “Emmett Smith.... touchdown... no flags”.

      To be fair, Buck is a play-by-play announcer (the equivalent of Pat Summerall

    In 14 years in the NFL, Larry Allen was a pro bowler 11 times, and a first team all pro 6 times. His 3 non-pro bowl seasons were his rookie season, his last season, and the 2002 season when he was injured and only played in 5 games. He made pro bowls and first team all pro at Right Guard, Left Guard, and Left Tackle.

    In 1993, I used to work as a Doorman/Bouncer at a bar in San Francisco.
    Several of the other Bouncers were Football players from San Francisco State.

      He was a shell of himself with the Broncos. Had less arm strength. He got by with his usual genius playcalling at the line of scrimmage and short passing. Wasn't going deep like he was with Wayne, Stokely, and Harrison.

    • @jackyoung9731
      @jackyoung9731 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Jon M he never had the strongest arm though he lived off deadly accuracy and being basically a coordinator at the line. So when he lost a lot of his arm it didn't matter because he never had a cannon. That's why he put up the best numbers of his career and arguably the best statistical 3 year stretch in NFL history from 12-14

    • @jonmolina948
      @jonmolina948 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Still think his best season was 2004. 49 TD's on much less attempts and more yards/completion . He completed 114 more passes when he threw his 55 TD's in Denver, totaling 450. Could you imagine if had completed 450 attempts with the Colts and their better wideouts.

      He had screwed up the toe on his lead foot, bad enough that he eventually needed surgery, the thing with that is it directly affects your ability to push off with your foot and accelerate, so when he slowed down and bit on the feint (turning his body inside in anticipation of a short in route or hook), he was screwed because he couldn't turn around and accelerate back to full speed fast enough to keep pace with a very young Marvin Harrison.

I think that was his last year in Dallas and next season he was in washington and got torched by Cowboys wr's also. He was done by then. You can't cover wr's if you cannot pivot or change direction quickly . It's not possible. It is not only a good excuse, it is an excellent excuse.
