    At certain RPMs, that engine reminds me of a 6.7 Cummins.

    4:35 - Reminds me of a time when my school district in WA state had all three types of buses.

    Gilligs were one of the best school buses made, I remember in 77 my school started buying automatic transmissions buses there on, the majority of drivers were women and it was safer and easier to drive

    That Engine does NOT sound Good at All.

      Lee Richardson sounds like the old Detroit diesel engine. I would have went with one of the inline Cummins and the 10 speed manual transmission.

      I'm a Retired School Bus Mechanic. That Engine needs some Serious work done with the Governor, Rack and Injectors. Jamming it into 2nd Gear will some day damage the Trans too.

      @@leerichardson3743 Yes it doesent sound healthy at all sounds like its got a knock and not a normal detroit combustion knock.

      Looks like it’s running on oil which would explain the surging. Yeah probably needs a full rebuild.
