The reason its shorter on your way back is because of the the Earths rotation... youre going against the Earths rotation on your way back which means youre moving one way and the earth is going the other way so youre both moving which will make you arrive back home quicker than when you came over to the US and were going the same direction as the Earths rotation. SCIENCE!
