The label on the rear may be able to be reset using heat, and slow diligence. It should be mentioned that N64 labels are not anywhere close to as resilient as NES/Gameboy/SNES labels. I've also found that a mild APC might work better than alcohol. Dry paper towel works well as a pin cleaner, as long as the pins aren't horrible. More of the videos would be great.
Blowing into the cartridges did absolutely nothing, even though we all did. It was the act of removing and reinserting that scratched the corrosion off the terminal. 🤓
The battery is there to keep save data stored on a a volatile memory (flash memory was expensive). If the battery runs out or is removed, the data goes poof.
Not really this is educating you on how to save money when video game cartridge prices are going through roof with games like Pokemon red on original gameboy being sold for £150 complete in box at CEX.
Dkoldies should take notes on this.
So true! Lets keep this comment at the top!

Best show on IGN.
DKOldies should hire this guy!!!!
This guy's overreaction to the dirt reminds me of children
If you could have experienced what that cartridge smelled like you would have reacted similarly.
You are so precious. Get over it. Fricking baby.

Yeah usually we only make long form videos when things are very busy.
So what's the battery for? Does it still work without a charge?

If anybody needs a video tutorial to find out how to clean a piece of plastic then he's seriously lost in life.
Remeber ign viewers are kids under 17 they don’t know better
Well there's dkoldies
Nothing wrong with tips, especially passing it along to friends/loved ones👌🏼
It's more than just a piece of plastic. There's electronics inside that shell that could break if you're not careful.
@@SALTYTOAD00 Well that’s why you take it apart so the circuit board doesn’t get damaged
Please make more videos like this
Noooo don't use magic eraser or emery board . Wtf
Game Sack had a better tutorial.
Here's a better way to clean SNES carts
Clean them out of your house and emulate instead
Nah
@@corrd3ll yah
@@knuclear200x What about the people who like to play it on native hardware? No everyone has the knowledge to run an emulator.
@@SALTYTOAD00 pc gamers are very disgusting people
@@SALTYTOAD00 you don't? That's just sad. It's no different than running a word document or an Adobe thing
Thumbs up refreshing
Your not a dad?
What y'all in the comments know about this?
12 mins to explain how to use alcohol and a toothbrush to clean plastic.
Don’t forget the toothpicks
Time it takes me to clean about 25 cartridges.
Show 👏🏻
Can’t make out anything when you zoom in, no offense but you need a decent camera for this.
Stretching for content. 😂😂
