Yay safe! It’s nice to see lots of people have not had a problem with the 2025 paper. I’m “safe” too, I tried my 2025 A5 Hon, A6 Techo, and two Weeks, all without a problem. And you press so hard and there still wasn’t bleed through! I can’t say I’ve ever written with any kind of fountain, gel, or ballpoint so hard that you could see the letters etched on the other side. You’re still young, save your hands from arthritis, don’t press so hard. You’ll wind up with hands like mine. 😢
I just heard yesterday that some Weeks were affected but I’m happy to hear all of yours are good too!! Whew!! Thanks for the tip on writing too - I do press hard and have always! I even have a “writers bump” ahhh. I’ll need to practice writing lighter for sure as my fingers lock up at times 😢
@@deannaxplans I switched to fountain pens because of my hand cramping up and getting numb and/or painful after a single journaling session. I watched lots of fountain pen TH-cams, and discovered one can make barely any pressure on the page and still get a nice line. It’s been a game changer!

@@deannaxplans I have an Eco and a mini diamond (if you like you can see the mini on my last video). Very handy for pocket/passport set ups. The Diamond 580s are especially good if you like to change nibs as they sell nib units for them (which they don’t on the eco). And they’re even easier to clean. But honestly, I love my Eco regardless. 😊

I’ve been watching more and more and the reports are not great! I feel lucky but then again I just did a small sample on the back page. I do wonder how the rest of the book will hold up 😫

Yay! Everything is safe! It's like the great mystery of tomoe river paper : I have the a6 and weeks from hobonichi and everything is fine as well - whew! Even my hibino which is sanzen paper is fine... so I think it's just that there is possibility and variance that some have bad paper - I mean, it's a lot of paper globally! I do think hobonichi has good customer service and if you got a bad one, you should get a replacement!
Ahhhh so happy to hear yours are fine too! And you’re right! Imagine how much paper they crank out each year 😮 I’ve seen one person report they replaced a book that was damaged during shipping and customer service was helpful so I’m hopeful for others with the paper issue! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Oh nooooo sorry to hear this about your Weeks 😭 I noticed when I did the pen test in the Weeks that the lines were broader and the pen wrote thicker than the Hon tests. Esp sucks bc the Weeks is more compact and I’m not a small writer. I do wonder how the rest of the book will perform 😕
My cousin 2025 is from the bad batch. I’m so gutted 😢 My mildliner highlighters bleed, pigma micron pens bleed, my fountain pens don’t 🤷🏻♀️ but the paper feel is different. It doesn’t have the sheen. Not sure what to do, but I don’t think I can do a year with this paper 😢

Because of course there are variations of ghosting and combinations of pens and inks - but if it’s just bleeding and completely not working - it’s like getting a fault product? Send them pictures and such? I hope you work it out! ❤️

Oh man that sucks! I even used my stub nib 1.1mm and I have no issues in mine... you should definitely contact hobonichi and get replacements!
