I would pass the Substantial Presence Test as I will be staying in the US for more than 183 days in 2023.
Will I have to pay taxes in the US against the income that I earned in my home country for those months of 2023 in which I was earning in my home country?
Your help in this regard will be much appreciated.

    Thank you, Gaurav.
My name is selected in the recent H1B lottery. I will be resident for tax purpose in the USA as I stayed more than 181 days in FY 2022. In the current year 2023 also, my stay will be more than 181 days.
Please help me to understand. Do I need to pay taxes in the USA for my indian income which is around Rs. 10 lacs in form of dividends and interest. I am paying around Rs. 1 lac tax in India for these incomes annually.
If yes, from which year onward, I need to declare my indian income to FED and whether the US tax will more on above mentioned income.
I have not been to India for quite sometimes so I have still not declared my status as NRI in India.
    Please help to undetstand.

People on H1B don't necessarily have to file using 1040 even if they are residents for tax purposes. There's exemption for the first 5 years which might be helpful for some people. Please look into this and rectify the misinformation presented in your video. Thank you Gaurav!

I'm living in usa from 2019 , I accidentally filed 1040 Tax forms instead of 1040 N.R will it make a difference, or should I refile my taxes.

Wait if you work as an H1B, and live in the US, aren’t you considered a resident?
