- Join us for another tour of the Cotswolds, this time showing you a route of horrific tales that really happened across the 18th, 19th and 20th century. Starting in Lower Quinton with an unsolved murder, moving through a poisoning in Chipping Campden, murder at Bourton on the Hill, theft in Stow on the Wold and finishing with a reprieve that came too late in Winchcombe.

Thanks again. Just watched both parts. I wrote an essay a few years ago on the supposed lost art of telling a tale. Some people have the gift, some don't. You definitely do have the gift. Not sure if it is the presentation, the accent, the writing, probably the combination of all three. Thanks again.
He's definitely talented, but I agree that the fact that it's filmed on location, the production quality, really increases the effect.

Putting aside the dark side of the Cotswolds, I think that this region of the United Kingdom is one of the most beautiful and quintessential you will ever find, and that’s in a country with so many wonderful and diverse areas of natural beauty and man made towns and villages. I was lucky enough to be brought up in the smallest county, Rutland, and if you don’t know where to look you would never find, without any guidance or detailed map, some villages and hamlets tucked away in the Rural idle that is Rutland. Thanks for sharing these wonderful stories with us all, absolutely perfect for Halloween and informative as well. My first taste of your channel and definitely a thumbs up 👍👍 and I am now subscribed. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴
P.S I am surprised that William went straight back to his burglary after two years in prison, my impression of jail in the 1800s is pretty grim, extremely squalid with little to none in the way of ablutions, sloping out daily, overcrowded, smelly, vermin infested and extremely brutal prison guards, I personally wouldn’t have wanted to go back in jail again, especially if my impression of conditions is anywhere near the reality.
This new series is so cool 😍 the channel in itself is a treasure, this new series is a cherry on the cake ♥️

The first story where the young wife Harriet murdered her husband Thomas. She didn’t mention another man, but wrote how her husband was tempted by Satan, which would indicate that he was an abusive husband. The poor orphaned child 😢 I wonder what happened to their child.
