Never seen or heard these Chapman Sticks. But this is beautiful, magnetic music. Unbelievable that this instrument has not gathered more attention. Sounds a bit like Cembalo.
The Chapman stick has only been around since the 70s and so far only about 8000 have been made. They have never really made it into mainstream music and therefore are very unknown. But the potential is there, they are wonderful instruments.:)
I did not know about the Chapman Sticks before I found your channel by the grace of the algorithm. So, the same algorithm brought to me a video made by Emmet Chapman himself some 15 years ago, explaining how he create the Stick and how it works. He put actually a lot of thinking into it, especially when it comes to tuning, and confessed that playing it is a real mental challenge. That explains why not a lot of musicians or bands are using it, even though is sounds amazing. You two seem to have no problems playing it. I see you have a 12-string, the darker wood, and a 10-string. I believe it also comes in an 8-string version.
The Chapman stick is still very unknown, but it is such a beautiful instrument. You are right, not many musicians take on the challenge of learning the Chapman stick. I think one of the problems is that there is hardly any teachers, or online courses and learning material available for the Chapman stick. that’s why we just posted our first beginners tutorial video. we are working on creating an online course to help people get started on the Chapman stick. We both play the 12-string Grand Stick. The wood is just for looks and doesn’t make a difference in the sound. 😁 we prefer the grand in matched reciprocal tuning, it’s nice having those extra two strings.
@@Cascademelodies Thank you both for all your work and dedication. Sound, vibration frequency is the common language of the universe and has healing properties. I know musicians and I will recommend the Chapman stick and your videos.
I first heard the Stick from a busker in Bournemouth, England 35 years ago. I was captivated and never forgot. This is a beautiful take on a classic, the Stick plays it so well. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is my all time favourite classic. I play it on the piano and would love to hear it on the Stick.

Major goosebumps listening to this!
This song is enchanting regardless what it is played on, but on these instruments...wow!
I’m glad you feel that way:)
One Chapman Stick sounds like a symphony. Two Chapman Sticks is a symphony squared!
Four hands at the same time can create a lot of music, we sometimes have to be careful to not make it sound cluttered😁
Never heard or seen this instrument but what an incredible sound. You do it justice.
