Same. Imagine kids now a days watching network sitcoms like Seinfeld with adult jokes and such. Not only would they find it strange and boring, but their parents refuse to let them watch anyways. I don't understand how our generation grew up to be so overprotective with kids. I'm a teacher, and you should see how kids sometimes react just to a kissing scene in a Disney movie. I'm just sitting there baffled like... At your age I had already seen and heard it all!
@@Kay2be2mr Kids did that when I was in school in the 80s too, but not as much. They would also laugh at some of the corniest jokes. Me and my friends would roll our eyes and sometimes tell them to shuut up. I remember the audience on save by the bell would do the same thing. Kids are certainly more sheltered now of days though.
If you come to think about it. Basically every kid more or less in the 'civilized' world born in the 70's and 80's, or lets just say in the time before internet and the rise of social media, grew up with all the same programs. We all watched the same shows etc. some being more wholesome than others and depending on what we liked on an individual basis. But atleast we all knew what was on the tv.. In one way that meant 'they' (The Matrix if you will) had control over what we saw, so you could say that falls under the umbrella of indoctrination. But did it mean it was 'bad'? Well surely not as bad as what kids growing up see nowadays. We haven't got a clue with all the content available to them now. Atleast back then you could count what was accessible (tv with limited amount of channels) every hour of the day since that was the only thing available.
They were not ugly, I remember girls really liking JTT back then. However their feet problem did stink considered they were in shoes all their waking moments throughout the show run. lol
Randy got most of the smart-ass/funny lines, I think (among the brothers). After that childhood, I wonder if Mark grew up to be a serial killer or something(??)
What I love about these old shows are the interiors and decoration of the houses. Think of this one, Boy Meets World, Cosby Show, Full House. One day I'd hope to have the same kind of design like this one. Screw all the all-white-and-big-glass-and-concrete modern trash nowadays. I'd go back to the basics and stick to nice wood and carpet. That small open computer room there on the side with the big book cabinet behind it just looks so nice.
Well, i'm part of a family in the midwest, from Grand Rapids, MI. Not only is the family in Home Improvement one of the most believable tv families ever, but Tim plays the role of a father perfectly. He reminds me of my dad a lot. Anyways, what were the other shows you were gonna say that were better?
That's the saddest episode of Home Improvement cause it involves a serious issue the one where they think Randy has Cancer it's in season 5 and the episodes on disc 3 called The Longest Day
Everybody! Ever thought of bringing Home Improvement back with a spin-off? Sign my petition (link located on my profile). I miss this show very dearly and it would be amazing to have them reunited(:
If I was 8 years old and my mother yelled something like that in my face, I don't think I'd be too happy...seemed a little cruel the way Jill said it to Mark.
I agree. Jill is frank with Tim all the time. She usually coddles Mark. Her disgusted facial expression also perturbed me. She was looking at him like, "how can you always be this stupid". Tim yelled at Mark once too, because he stole a knife from a hardware store. I didn't like that either. Mark is naïve, and more sensitive compared to his street smart brothers. I imagine he probably became a serial killer when he got older. I've rekindled my interested in Home Improvement because of Last Man Standing. Its odd watching this show through adult eyes. I pick up on things that I've never noticed before.
Jothnthan taren Zachary you both really missing me maybe we get airhorn Patricia like get to know me talking i cant hear myself thinking airhorn door alarm kids room

+Marty Keaton I agree, she was yelling in the face of her 8 year old son, and calling him a sap (which at that age, he may not even understand what it means).
Such a sweet family. This world needs to start appreciating and celebrating families like this.
I learnt a lot of english watching this everyday at 5 after school on CTV. My favorite actor back then was JTT, i added to the interest :)
This show defined my childhood. I remember from 5:00 to 8:00 on Fox it was either Home Improvement, The Simpsons, or Seinfeld. Those were the days.
