Always this so called singer tries to show his caliber, but absolutely there is neither raga bhavam nor sahitya bhavam. And above all he struggles hard to sing in sruti. Ultimately it only sounds like stupid noise.
He sings as if drunk. A beautiful song has been unnecessarily complicated and overstretched. His desire to demonstrate his mastery and control over the voice has robbed the song of its soul. Such convoluted rendition is making Karnatic music unpopular with a section of the public. Listen to the same song rendered by Chembai half a century ago and feel the difference. Whereas Chembai' rendition sounds music to our ears Tns's jarring.
Do u know anything about nalinakanthi.or for that matter anything about music.u say he sang as if he is drunk ,u cant sing like him even if u are drunk.the perfection of shruthi, and raga u can see here.this rendition is for intellectuals and not for gnana sooniyams like u.
Such genius and legendary singers can't get the first word of the song right, that's inappropriate, shows lack of discipline. it is Manavi Aalakinchi.... not Manvyalakinchi. there is no word Manvyala....
I agree that there is no telugu word 'manavyalakincha'. It is manavi + aalakincharadate. But sometimes singers use sandhi to go with the raaga so manavi+aalakincha - मनवि+आलकिंन्च इ+आ transforms into या as in मनव्या ( थणा देश सन्धि ) . Ex आदि + अन्त = आद्यन्त Moreover in the second line he splits the word correctly मनवि आलकिन्च. So TN is correct technically. Such harsh criticism is uncalled for.
OK, he started off like you said, but sandhi, allows him to conjoin words. A classic example is endaro mahanubhavulu. We take a breath after mahanu- and start the next phrase with - bhavulu. I hope there's no such word as mahanu. It's maha+ anubhavulu. The great thyagaraja swami has done so, and I don't think you have any caliber to contradict him.
My dad's all time favorite singer :) :) Great man!!! Years of practice sublimed into this 13 mins of flawless beauty :)
So true, Mr Venkatesh.
The opening of the raga is simply so lucid, it's like literally introducing someone " Hi! Meet Nalinakanthi !! " :) :) awesome
That's a good one. He is always good at Aalaapana.
ma'am i beg to differ, he is good at everything :)

Hear the alapana. That's pure genius. And if you want a voice as versatile as that, it takes all of Saraswati's kataksham.

Among today's singers only Abhishek comes close to TNS's peak when it comes to technical genius.
I fully agree with you.
"Manian"

Any aspect of music, tns is above perfect... abhishek cant make a tns in speed .... Never
TM Krishna is capable and he has found his own style which is inimitable aesthetically.

No match. Namaskaram to god gifted singer.

Do u know the basics of Carnatic. What a rendition of nalinakanthi.Dont comment nonsense without knowing the basics.

Kesavan Kandadai there you go........ Take the high road

It is a primarily carnatic music concert and not 'Kavi Arangam' and on that basis the rendition of Pallavi cannot be contradicted.
