I think one of the most important skills for a cat owner to learn is the art of diversion. My partner doesn't understand why all of the cats 'respect' me, but it's because I teach them the positive ways to get what they want. I give them lots of praise and attention when they do the right things, and divert them away from the wrong things. Instead of getting frustrated when one of the cats is picking on another, divert the ornery cat's attention out of the room with play or pets. Instead of fussing at a cat for getting on a table or desk, ignore them while they're up there, and draw their attention back to the floor for pets. They only get attention when they're in the right place with the right behavior, and never when they're in the wrong. Also, if you consistently encourage your cats to show/tell you what they want, they become much less frustrated and have fewer behavior issues. Mine come ask me for things, and I get up and follow them to what they want. Maybe the water dish is empty, maybe they want a snack, or maybe they just need me to stand guard while they use the box. Communication is the antidote to bad behavior, but it only works if you listen and encourage them to express their wants. A little bit of effort on our part, makes for much happier cats and a much more harmonious home.

My neutered, declared by previous owners😟, very emotional, jumpy, sensitive male cat keeps breaking out with dry bumps around his neck & chin. I did have to switch his tuna brand for a couple of days. But his regular diet consists of Iams..he won't eat it anymore because he tasted Meow Mix. smh.
And he's gotten tuna daily for over a year. Sometimes he eats it sometimes he doesn't, so I don't worry about the mercury issue.
Anyways, this scabby neck thing is driving me nuts. I attempt to spray his neck or wipe his neck with the proper pet antiseptic, but then he acts like he's being abused or harmed for a day. Getting so upset, he'll vomit. Like I said, he's a very emotional boy. Any suggestions? Please and thank you in advance

Stop using antiseptic on scabs because it will probably produce pain. He's trying to tell you that. It sounds a bit like an allergic reaction, possibly to fleas. My best advice is find a great vet who'll work to figure it out.
