As one who is the descendent of Orthodox Jews, separated from them at birth, but now seeking to reclaim my birthright and faith, what I hear from Conservative rabbis and scholars are more in line with my own experiences and study. I completely agree with the the idea G-d is not Jewish, He is too large to be defined in such mortal, finite terms. The humility of this statement is tremendous and encompasses what my own experiences have taught me. The discussion on content and context offers hope to applying the principles of Torah in a relevant and applicable way, a refreshing concept. This feels like home. Baruch HaShem
As a baal teshuva Orthodox Jew under 8 months of pressure to embrace conservative Judaism, much of this resonates with me, especially the importance of intellectual honesty and self-criticism. However, I think that one point has been lost in the conversation. Orthodoxy is described in this video as not 'the real world' and not 'sane'. In the real world of Orthodoxy, though, there is no assumption that G-d is unarguably real or that the rabbis are all perfect. There is honest acknowledgement of uncertainty with the conclusion that, at the end of the day, we can indeed find joy, fulfillment, and holiness in the same path of our ancestors. There is indeed modesty- but for us it takes the form of saying that, with our finite level of discernment, we are in no place to identify as invalid a specific law that has long been understood to come from G-d. Allowing ourselves freedom from dwelling in a sea of doubt and JEDP fumbling, we can then live what I view to be a richer, more positive Judaism.
Truly interesting, I sincerly wish to convert to conservative Judaism. I got many orthodox connections, even ultra. But I need a more liberal way, where can I communicate more with you guys?
I wish Conservative Jews would have more videos that are more recent not something 4yrs old!! What is going on?? Why is this not happening?? Conservative is not dying!!
I am a Conservative Jew who is a man from birth which is the Only Way to be a man by the way ! How could our leaders let us down by supporting the LGBTQ+ community ? Our children are literally being indoctrinated and the leaders call this progress . No This is Insanity ! Young peoples body parts are being cut off and Jews are celebrating at the pride parade completely oblivious to how irresponsible this is on the part of the leadership of the Conservative movement ... Time to go to real Judaism where Torah values are Truly up held - Orthodox Judaism !
What if you don't believe in any of these labels for Judaism, no matter how many millions of people continue to use them? It seems that for each one of them there is a 'we' with a fence around it.
I am attending conservative judism conversion classes. I live in Des Moines Iowa. not a lot of Jews here. Very disheartening. 2 Synagoes all close together. Reforn and Orthodox are the other two. not a lot of people in those places either. Their Rabbi's are jerks. seriously. many people have complained. I don't think this helps the Jewish cause for growth and interest. My Rabbi is very nice or I wouldn't be there. I feel this issue is critical and needs to be addressed nation wide. How would one go about this??

I would request subtitles for these seminars, as it is better for me to read text than miss hear what is being said.
תודה רבה.
