  • In this episode I tried out wooden filament and I´m pleased with the result. It came out really good. The wooden filament I used is unbranded - or branded with a Swedish Local Store - Clas Ohlson. I´ll leave a link down below.

    Great harmonic and soothing video, I've subbed for more content like this :)
    This is the first time I see varnish used with wood filaments and you inspired me to try it out as well. Thank you and keep on making videos (y).

    So its been a couple of years since this video went up- how are they working now? Any breaks, chips, wear/tear, etc? I'm genuinely curious how well wood PLAs hold up over time. Loved your video!

      It actually broke a while back when my daugther dropped it on the floor. A little piece came of from the top part. Other than that it held up really good. Thanks!

    How long after the stain did you wait to do the clear coat?

    I find I have to use wood filler a lot because this filament for some reason doesn’t always finish printing. For example my last print completely missed the top layers so I can see infill . I have read to try a 0.5mm nozzle instead of 0.4 or lower so I’ll try it

    Stunning piece and a great video! What 3d printer and setup do you have? Is it holding up over time with wood printing?

    Hello the swedish Maker. i want to ask you about this video. I like to do woodcarving. And for some pieces of wood carv of some furniture i repair.... I was thinking in a wood filament 3D printer. I do not know if all 3D printers can print with this filament, of if the final texture, is very similar like wood. I need to be the SAME texture, almost like originals, The color or the other characteristics can me manage. I ask you, because if you have a small piece to repair, and is the part is a elaborated carved, sometimes could be less complex, scan, correct with a software like solid works or similar (i do not know...i use it for other things this software -for mechanicals parts-), and then 3d printed, than give the final touchs by hand.
    Well. for the final, thanks for the video, is very instructive. As must be.

      Hi! I wouldn't say you can achieve the wood texture.

    I've done a lot of woodworking in the past but haven't gotten into using wood filament with my 3d printer yet. I love the way the bowl turned out. Great video!

      How long would something like this take to make by hand? Be interesting to see if a skilled woodworker could make this faster than a 3d printer. I was thinking of buying a 3d printer but would also be nice to be able to make things without needing a machine.

    I've been semi satisfied with the Clas Ohlson filaments so far, but they just recently stopped accepting cash as a payment so that's a bummer. Thanks for the video. Cheers from Finland

      It was unfortunately to long ago so I cant really remember. I think I followed the temps that were on the PLA box it came in.

    Super cool, purchasing a 3D printer very soon. One question though, is it expensive to print out stuff like this? how much do you estimate it costed you to print both of these items? thanks.

    • @TheSwedishMaker
      @TheSwedishMaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To print smaller stuff like this it isn't very expensive. A roll of filament is around 20 dollars (here in Sweden at least). And a spool is often around 350meters. And my guess is that the headphone stand is about 15-20 meters.

    Riktigt snyggt! Var osäker på om Clas Ohlsons filament skulle funka bra men detta kör jag på! Kommer du ihåg vad du hade för print-temperatur och munstyckesstorlek?

      Hej! och Tack! Classes filament fortsätter att förvåna :) Print-tempen var nog lite lägre än vanligt om jag inte missminner mig. Jag tror att jag hade den på 190 och med 0,4mm

    Hej!
    Ricard, Gränna här. Är sen på bollen med 3D-printning men älskade stativet för hörlurar. Såg inte vad din kanal hette men hajade till när du använde bets (pulver). Hade varit fint att få lite tips på vad du tycker är bra träfilament nu några år senare? Samma? Hoppas du svarar. Ser att du har många följare. Kul!

    • @TheSwedishMaker
      @TheSwedishMaker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hej! Kul att du hittade till kanalen. Tyvärr har jag faktiskt inte testat några andra träfilament sedan dess. Utbudet nu är väldigt mycket större än då och det borde ha hänt en del med den typen av filament.

    • @Hulteke
      @Hulteke ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSwedishMaker Jag får kolla vidare. Kul. Så vad handlar kanalen om nu? Är det mer blandat eller är du inriktat på något särskilt?

    • @TheSwedishMaker
      @TheSwedishMaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hulteke Ja det är blandat snickeri, 3d-printing, läder - allt som man kan göra grejer av :)
