@kimhurley7019 I just discovered storefront art in 2023 and have found they became my favourite tutorials quite quickly, so I decided to make my own. It is an enjoyable subject and I love a loose watercolour and ink technique!
"I thought I'd make this one easy on myself." HA! Famous last words. This really was a treat, far beyond my skill, but I do so enjoy your voiceover sharing your thought process. I enjoy all your work. Thank you so much.
Loretta, this is NOT beyond your skill. That's what I thought about myself. But I did this. Try just drawing a portion of it...say the door. Even draw a few doors till you get comfortable. Then draw another part. I feel so much more comfortable with drawing. I might not paint it, that is a whole other thing to conquer, but I have to admit that the drawing confidence is much better. Give it a try. Cheers
@tanyaprado97 you will notice improvement the more you practice. Once you practice enough of Storefront Art you will be able to create these type of buildings on your own!
Thank you for the inspiration of so many simple textural details. I will enjoy painting a circular stone pattern in front of a doorway & steps of a house that I am going to create in a fall theme of pumpkins and other gourds with potted plants!
I love this. I want to paint my Brothers new house for a Christmas present this year and I have learned so much about lines, windows and shadows from this tutorial. And it’s just beautiful to watch it come together. Thank you.
I adore this. This style is my favorite and something I'd like to get better at creating. It's so helpful to see the whole process because there were moments where I thought "oh wow, that looks perfect, why is she going in with more paint" and then it looks even better. I struggle with knowing where to push for more detail and when is too much. So actually seeing it play out was sooooo helpful
It's beautiful, a cake shop painted by you with very impressive colors. From sketching a picture with a pencil to coloring a table picture, everything is done excellently. I am also learning how to draw with pencil, so your drawing will help me to learn more things, I will continue to follow your works in the future.
Another beautiful painting! Thank you for taking all that time to show us. I can only half imagine how much time it took to edit that video for us. Thank you!
Dear Nia, thank you so much for this detailed tutorial. I enjoyed that one sooo much. Absolutely loved it, it’s my favorite so far, even though it was your longest one. ❤
This video has 302k views. I think 1k of those are me. This video gives so many tutorials on so many different things. Shading, details, blossom in trees, brickwork, snd for me today those wonderful stonework...thankyou again💛
That's a lot of views from one person 🤣 I'm so happy that there's a lot you could take away from this tutorial! You're so very welcome, and I should thank you for the views as well hahaha
I know it's not sustainable for you to do these more lengthy, intricate ones, but WOW did I love doing this. If you ever change your mind, I'd be all over that! :D
Haha yea I loved painting this one as well, but it's getting more impossible to do more lengthy ones with TH-cam's algorithm these days, and the addition of shorts 😭 I'm so happy you had fun painting along to it!
Oh I love this. It looks so beautiful! I’ll consider challenging myself to learn this piece haha (it looks like a whole next level to my skills right now). Thank you for spending so much time filming this. I appreciate your tutorials very much.
It's such a pleasure! It was challenging, but I really enjoyed the process of painting this one. Just glad that everyone here get to enjoy it as well ^_^
This was awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute from beginning to end as you created this charming storefront. I can truly appreciate the time and the tremendous amount of editing involved, but I surely hope that you might reconsider and perhaps think about doing one more before the holidays. Perhaps a toy store with a Christmas theme? It is such a joy to watch you paint, I find myself gathering my brushes, pallets and paper. So inspiring!!🖌️🎨
Aw thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'm afraid that's not possible with my current schedule. I'll be flying to Austria to visit my husband for the next 3 months (we have a LDR) very soon, and when he comes back with me to Indonesia with me mid feb, I'll be going to his city to visit his family for another 3 weeks to celebrate my brother in law's wedding on march... Along with other factors which maxed out my schedule... I've actually scheduled until 24th feb, and I have 10 more videos to edit while I'm in Austria so I don't have to film so much during the dark winter months and a skillshare class to make while I'm there... I'm afraid I can't fit any more in, especially such a large project like this one to turn into a video 😅 Hopefully it's something that I can make next year though 🤞
No worries joy! I can't visualise fully, so I never know 100% what will come out on paper 🥲 but I have no idea how aphantasia feels... I take me ring off when my hand is not in top condition. I found out even though I'm not supposed to be allergic to it, I can have an allergic reaction when I'm mentally or physically stressed 😓
Im running out of words to describe your amazing paintings. 🤣 Thank you so much for this looong happy accident. 🙏 It is adorable. Who thought a ruler would be so hard to find? 😱 Enjoyed the story about it. TFS.🥰
It is so beautiful~ Im your huge fan in south Korea. I practice drawing while watching your video. "mini store front" and "ice cream cart" are my favorate. I have a favor to ask of you, could you add each colors' name in subtitles whenever you use it?
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos :)) I can't really add subtitles for the colours, because there are too much, and the writing wouldn't be quick enough to follow, which is why even as I'm voice overing sometimes I just generalise the mixtures for a certain areas since the ratios will also vary... It'll also take too many extra hours to complete each video so if I try to do that I won't be able to produce 1 vid per week 🙈 sorry...
Would've taken too long coz I needed the sun light to film, if nt I Would've needed to film it for 2 days.. and I think delivery service is only available for food there (not too sure)... I stayed in the 2nd largest city in Austria, but it's very tiny, no where compared to Vienna 😅
Please don't repost my videos as it takes a lot of effort to make, and the more I let people do this, the more people will think that it's okay to do so... if you want to share, you can refer the link to this video instead :) Thank you so much for your understanding.

aww I'm so glad! It's not so easy to draw.. I prefer to just paint without drawing myself, but it is a good foundation :))
I could watch these all day

Thanks :))
ooooo I love Procreate ! Lovely
Me too! It's so useful and portable :D
Perfect 👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome love your voice ❤️
haha thankss 🙈
Can I ask. Why do you use different brands of paint and not stick to a palette of one brand only?
Love your work. Thanks
Originally I have a set of holbein, but my friends sent me some paint to try with other brands which reacts differently :))
Thank you, Nia.
You make it look so easy❤. I have aphantasia so can't see things in my head, I always need a reference photo. Your ring is missing.

Beautiful painting! I don’t u derstand about the ruler cuz the thing you used looks like a t-square ruler to me lol
I took off one of the sharp ends of the tool so it's a bit less clunky and heavy xD
never thought that looking for a ruler could turn out to be a hassle 🤣
exactly why I didn't bring one with me xD
hi nia, i wanna ask what size of paper u use for this 😄
I think I either mentioned it in the vid or the desc box. I can't measure coz I left the painting in Austria, and I'm back in Jakarta atm 😅
