To think that this movie was made almost a decade ago, and now we have AI that can proofread, organize your emails, and act as a therapist. Amazing times we live in.

I thoroughly loved Theo's relationship with his friend Amy. Rarely do we see such a healthy platonic relationship between people of the opposite sex. I don't think the message at the end was necessarily them getting together as a couple but more so being the person they needed for each other at that time y'know? To have someone truly care and love you for you without the obligation or label of being in a relationship. Just a really good friend. Love from a friend. Just love.

Love how observant you are and how much you read body language.
This is one of my favorite movies, for many reasons. Thanks for adding one of the few reactions it has to this site :)

Thanks for watching and commenting! I was surprised by how great this movie is. I heard it was good, but I wasn't expecting to like it so much. An amazing film all around. Yeah, she has an easy voice to fall in love with :) Did you hear, she wasn't the first actor to play the voice?

Something that probably overlooked by people relates to the part where they Samantha and Theodore are talking about their emotions and Samantha asks "are these feelings even real or are they just programming." We could ask that same question about our own emotions. Are they real or are they programming? Yes, we experience them, but we also experience the appearance of train tracks getting closer together out in the distance, but it's a perspective illusion. Could it be that emotions are also a perspective illusion, experienced yet not an real?
I really enjoy the psycho-philosophical side of movies like this. It raises interesting questions.
Sam Harris has talked about AI and the implications for quite awhile and one of the things he warned about was what you kept bringing up. He was talking about how AI is already better at some games than humans are and that at some point, AI will be better at every single task than a human. From chess to writing to construction to spinal surgery. They will even be better at building other AI systems and updating themselves. The one that blew me away was when he mentioned how at some point, AI will become so advanced that it will be able to so 1,000 years of intellectual work in a matter of a decade, then a year, then 6 months and eventually, it could potentially be able to do such work in a week or even a few days. They'd be able to solve almost every external problem that man has ever encountered or could. When I started thinking about that, I didn't really know what to do with it. I knew it was probably true, but even now, it's difficult to wrap your head about what a world like that could be like.

    Also, in my opinion.
At the end of the movie, the OS's more or less ascended into the 5th dimension.
    🤷‍♂️

The main character... It's just... You have this being of near infinite knowledge... You could be talking to it about spirituality or God. You could be talking to it about enlightenment.. Hell, you could be asking it how to create infinite energy, rediscover Nikolai Tesla's work, or the secret to the Elixir of life. And this guy.. all he can think of is dating this thing???
But I guess that's what most people would do.
    Great movie, great reaction 🙏

Cause the movie was all about love in the end of the day...none of these things bring or have something do with love...i guess you missed the point maybe or not but i think you got it...the movie was his point of view such about the use of an amazing power, that it self shows how humans are humans, we are the same but different in the same time , the human factor....humanity , love there is such amazing subtleties like the computers are made of wood frame...to link more to the subject of the movie and make more organic...i still myself don't know what to take from this film about so many things but the main point is clear: love...only humans can experience i guess...i hope...i think Samantha just finally reached this conclusion maybe within her greatness or maybe she finnaly reached love through Alan watts which was a zen-budhist philosopher and as so the philosophy of Real love is basically letting go and so on...and this movie is a painting, every time i watch i still don't get it 100% and it makes me feel so sad actually but i don't care is like i'm hooked to his world and identify so much i can't stop watching anymore

Why did Theodore tell his ex-wife that he's dating his computer.. or ANYONE for that matter.. and since he did, it's unfortunate he didn't have the balls to finish his sentence.. I believe what Theodore was about to say was "You don't know what it's like to date an OS, do you have an OS?"
Which I think would have paralleled when he told Samantha, that she doesn't know what it's like to lose someone you love.

That woman on the date was a cuckoo one, good thing he stopped when he did, she freaked him out, good riddance.

@@CanadaDan I really don’t think she was cuckoo. In a lot of ways she was more human than Theodore at the time. The two ways I think she called him creep was: one, she couldn’t handle the rejection, and two, she couldn’t believe how personal he could be only to reveal how far he was away from her. If only he couldn’t been somewhat truthful about his divorce.
