Maybe nobody agrees with me, but I'm very happy they ended the series. Something about seeing the end of a cycle that began so far away in a different time and place really felt right. I don't really want another game, just maybe a trilogy release with all the games running with the same engine and graphical style of the GBA MOTHER 3.
I kind of agree. Since the nowhere islands was destroyed in MOTHER 3, another game would be pretty weird. The only mother related game I want now is mother 3 officially outside of Japan and an official MOTHER 1+2+3

Claus- Mother 3- I was doing the first Masked Man fight in front of Long Name Temple and I couldn't beat him then on my billionth attempt just before the fight I said, abruptly, aloud, not realising what I had said to myself until it was too late and I'd ruined everything: "God fucking damn it he's Claus isn't he." I was so angry with myself because my brain had been working on who it was without me knowing and then as soon as it figured it out it just shot itself to the front of my mind with no respect for good storytelling whatsoever.
I love MOTHER, the stories, the quarky humor, the darkness, just everything. If i could ever choose a series for Nintendo to revisite, it would be MOTHER. long live this series

Tbh I didn't cry during the death of Claus but rather this credit scene. The music just kinda makes me happy and sad knowing that the fun I had with the Mother games is over and that kinda marks the end of my childhood with EarthBound but now moving on to the Future kinda like a bitter sweet ending but none the less this ending just left me with smiles and tears and reminded me why I love the EarthBound series 😃😃😃😃😃
